how long ago did you order it? a few people at my local dealer ordered their 2023 back in august and they still haven’t started the build

​@@AliKhan-fl5cy I'm from europe and have ordered the 50 TDI version, but ordered it at the end of May last year with a delivery date of 52 weeks, i.e. one full year. Still no updates but the dealer says it should be ready on time...

We placed our order in Oct., and just now received allocation in Apr. They’re saying another 3-4 months for build. Emily, how are you liking yours?

My build date has been moved to the end of June (i.e. next MY already), but still no fixed date. Plus about one month to the final delivery. I hope they won't move it further.

Very nice! Agree, looks very comfortable and it’s got a handsome, easy to live with interior. The ADAS seems to be quite intelligent as well, for when the driver stops paying attention. Unlike some cars where they release all control of steering/brake/throttle and just send the car go off a cliff.

Next up you need to test the recently revised E450 Wagon, now dubbed the E450 All Terrain with its 3.0L I6 with “EQ Boost”. I’d also be down for an RS6 Avant test. I really would love one of these A6 Allroads to replace my Q5. I almost bought an A4 Allroad instead of the Q5 but I wanted the Supercharged V6 instead of the 2.0T. Audi’s blindspot monitoring warning on the mirror housing is my preferred location. I wish Tesla adopted radar based blindspot detection and the mirror mounted warning light. It’s one of my least favorite things about the Tesla.

Hey Kyle - What is the quietest and most comfortable car you have tested at 75 mph? I am specifically looking for a road trip vehicle that can accommodate some cargo.

I love AUDIs and I have fallen in love with this A6 Allroad.... I initially wanted an SUV for the extra space and practicality, but also like a sportier lower riding feel. This may be the perfect medium for me. a little higher than a sedan, but not as high as some SUVS so I will like driving dynamics, but also the xtra space and practicality. I definitely will have to test drive one. as I am in the market for an upgrade from my 16 Mazda 6 GT. want to step into a luxury fun driving car with space.

I am a little surprised that you couldn't get HOD steering wheel on an A6 when it is available on a Q3, at least in Canada. However, between HOD and heated steering wheel, I will take the heated one.

I wish a PHEV version of A6 Allroad the way it is A3 Etron Sportback unfortunately discontinued for North America.

Wait, so the S4 is an 8 speed slushbox but the allroad gets DSG mated to the same engine? Go figure.

The higher power engines sometimes get the torque converters. The RS cars almost all have torque converters.

@@lucavangorkom9453 I had to double check but you're right, only the RS3 has 7 speed dsg of the various RS cars. I tried to spend some time figuring out the logic behind what cars get what transmission but there appears to be an exception to every rule I can come up with. "DSG = sporty, torque converter = smooth" doesn't explain why RS cars are mostly torque converter. DSG can't handle as much power doesn't explain why the Allroad gets it but the S4 doesn't because they're the same engine. About the only other thing I can come up with is that each level of car has its own product design team and different teams have different preferences for transmissions so its just entirely a crap shoot.

@@Cowclops yeah I've never really been able to wrap my head around it either, so never bothered to find out why. I always thought it was too do with power tolerances like you mention, but it doesn't always fit as you'd expect. There's also variations between markets - some cars in the US get torque converters in some circumstances when the ones in Eu get DSGs. Never understood why.

@@Cowclops.. Another wrinkle to consider is the "Quattro System" utilized. .. The current S4 3.0l V6T w/8sp torque-converter automatic has a true full boat "Quattro all-wheel drive" system. .Compared to the 1/2 baked, down market "Ultra technology" (Front wheel drive biased) used in the A6 Allroad 3.0l V6T w/7sp DSG. .. I like my Audi's with the real deal Quattro system where possible. . Man,,, fond memories our '95.5 UrS6 wagon of ten years. . A wolf in sheeps clothing after all the RS2/Porsche mods.. Cheers,

@@michaelschneider- I learned to drive in my dad's 1999 A4 1.8T and as fun as my RS3 is to drive speed-wise, that A4 was a BEAST in the snow w/ real torsen center mechanical full time AWD. He later had a comparatively rare V8 Allroad that was pretty fun too.
