They def turned the whole r&b game up when they came out. Probably one of the best female groups. Nobody back then was hitting them notes like them and we had some of the illest groups back then. They was very short lived but they was ill, they wasn't on Michael Jackson record label for no reason.

AMAZING performance here. MiMi was KILLING that soprano like it was easy. I've never seen Maxee cut loose like that, she ripped it. Nicci was on point like usual. Three AMAZING singers. They don't do it like this anymore...

She’s a mezzo soprano: Maxee. Since Nicci and Maxee alternated leads, the sound of the group leaned toward the lower end of their registries. So a first soprano would be utilized more as a backing vocalist than a lead, to round out the sound. She provides a richness and completeness in the harmony. However, Mimi’s tone for a first soprano is a bit on the dramatic side. The quick vibrato and jazzy, horn like nature is the perfect blend. The group member they added afterward was more of a dramatic mezzo soprano. I’m sure wrestling for center stage became interesting.
