Trying to write the sheet music for "I Never Loved a Man.." for my sister who's learning bass had me tearing my hair out. Eventually I learned through some convoluted route what a swing was, and that this, like a lot of Gospel and Gospel inspired music is a swing, made everything click. The groove is -- for me -- easy after that. You thump the first down beat, and the music will tell you whether you whether or not to go lightly around the second down beat or to thump it, too. Usually it's softly...softly.. THUMP.

Someone handed me the Hal Leonard Bass Method complete edition, despite the shorter scale would this book work for the Ukulele Bass???
