I’m playing bass for the first time and I have reached lesson 7 I’m progressing very well and enjoying every lesson. I replay the lessons over and over and this has helped with my progress. Your sessions have been the best on KZbin with no frills just patient straight forward teaching which I appreciate

Dear Rich Brown, I wanted to reach out and express my sincere gratitude for your KZbin channel dedicated to bass lessons. The content you create and share is truly amazing. Your expertise, clear explanations, and passion for the instrument shine through in every video. As a bass enthusiast, I've found your lessons to be an invaluable resource. They've helped me improve my technique, expand my musical understanding, and ignite even more excitement for playing bass. Can you do more lessons on the very basics of counting against the metronome and in other lessons, cover polymeters and composing in polymeteres like MESHUGGAH. Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge and experience with the bass community. Your dedication to teaching and your commitment to producing high-quality content are deeply appreciated. Keep up the fantastic work - you're making a real difference in the lives of bass players around the world. With respect and appreciation, Billy

You just gave me an insight nobody else has on YT. I was buzzing and it drove me mad. Reason? Plucking strings too hard. Solution? Turn the amp up and let that do the work. Marvellous and thank you.

I dont think i have said this enough Mr Stone but you speak from a place of purity and grace. If i close a deal on a shipping deal that,i am working on,i pledge to support you and this is said publicly. So many teachers out there, talking bass, scots and all good in their own domains but never have I come across a master as you. I think i am a big meshuggah fan for life due to their technical dissonant array of epicness and one day i may compose like them, like a poor mans MeChuGGah.....but the basics are important. Simplicity is important. I get that from you and their bassists simple setup. Just an Aguilar agro, darkglass vintage deluxr and an Aguilar tone hammer. Can you please make more videos on timing using metronome and one scale...maybe to a metal setting if you feel like it. Regards n respect Billy.

I am a total beginner, never touched a guitar nor bass. I played trumpet in a brass band for ~ 25 years and try now to make the transition into playing e-bass with 39 y/o and I really appreciate your lessons.

You Sensei are a pure soul. Thank you for ALL of your content. Your lessons are wonderful and i will contribute definitely when a deal goes through. I am a maritime consultant by day and a noob bassist at night. I love Meshuggah and you may find them to heavy but do hear Spiteful Snake and electric red. Can you teach me...us some basic bass lines chugging on polymeters to come up with such lines. Thanx in advance. Regards Billy

Rich this is such a great way to think about pentatonic scales! I saw a video a while back on pentatonic modes (I think it was yours?), but this is a much handier way to think about it, just remembering the 1 and 6. You're the man, thank you!

I've been playing the bass for about 6 months now. And while I can play full songs and all that jazz, your lessons have been helping me to nail the technique. Like I said in a previous comment, you're the teacher I always wanted. You make the whole art of playing and handling the instrument as stress-free as possible. Proving merit is as it is stressful, the last thing we need is a teacher who stresses us out! Your calm, controlled, friendly yet firm approach works really well. Thank you for making these videos to help us beginners, Sir. 💖🥰🙏

Hey Rich- you mentioned Sting as an example (despite his one-note reputation)he’s a real bassist-also CCR, because Fogarty’s brother wasn’t a bassist, just struggling to keep up. And ZZTop-bass is simple but a powerful drummer.
