For what reason would they do data for all cars except LMP's?

LMP2's are all the same car and don't use BoP therefore my guess would be that the LMP2 suppliers, in IMSA's case Ligier and Oreca take care of the data themselves. while for BoP reasons Bosch does it as a third party

So the BOP makes it so all the cars pretty much run the same speed….so that will make for less passing. Great.

No, not at all. The cars run at different paces depending on the conditions, often one car is comfortably the fastest during the night then a different one is faster in the day. If it wasn’t for BOP, one car would probably be faster in all conditions and would win easily with less overtaking. If you actually watched it, you would see there is plenty of overtaking :)

I'm not sure that's how it works. If you've not watched an IMSA race, I highly recommend it! Make up your mind then 👍

It makes for more passing, if cars arent equal then itd be like F1 tbh, minimal passing and after a quarter of a 24 hour race itd be a parade
