commenters said bruce could be heard in the back. no sound engineers but i guess cathedrals had good acoustics. until fairly recently if you did theatre it was expected even a stage whisper could be heard from an actor. i have only seen 1 play as a kid and could not heaqrd the other actors but in the balcony could hear john carradine fine.

This isn't exactly "Revelations", it's the hymn "Oh God of Earth and Altar" with words by G.K. Chesterton and arrangement by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1906 to the traditional English folk melody "King's Lynn". Part of this hymn was included in the Iron Maiden song "Revelations" however.

Although this is awesome and it warms my heart to see Mr. Ian Anderson be the benefactor of so many kind comments by Iron Maiden fans, of which I am a fan of both JT and Maiden. The one thing both have in common is both are uniquely British and both have masterful songwriting. However, imagine if you will Mr. Bruce Dickinson sharing the stage with the Ian Anderson of yore (1973-1982) when Ian still had a voice?

Our earthly rulers falter, Our people drift and die; The walls of gold entomb us, The swords of scorn divide, Take not thy thunder from us, But take away our pride. From all that terror teaches, From lies of tongue and pen, From all the easy speeches That comfort cruel men, For sale and profanation Of honour and the sword, From sleep and from damnation, Deliver us, good lord. Tie in a living tether The prince and priest and thrall, Bind all our lives together, Smite us and save us all; In ire and exultation Aflame with faith, and free, Lift up a living nation, A single sword to thee.
