Wow, you actually scared me then 😂 Stroke is a serious thing as well, and what’s amazing with Nicko is that according to Bruce the stroke caused him to forget how to play drums! Still Nicko sat down and relearned how to be one of the worlds best drummers once again, and that is awesome 👏🏻 Respect ✊🏻🤘🏻

@TOGade-dj6jh it wasn't that it caused him to forget how to play drums. It partially paralyzed his right side.

@@Vorticy135 thanks for clearing that up, I didn’t know the extent of the stroke. But he managed to play and that is a huge feat in itself. A guy I knew suffered a stroke, before he was an incredible guitar player but afterwards he didn’t know how to play guitar at all. He had to relearn the art and became almost as good in the end, unfortunately he suffered an ever worse stroke and passed away. Sometimes strokes can erase certain memory banks, that’s why I thought Bruce’s statement made sense. 🤘🏻🇸🇪🤘🏻

They have certainly become even more of a unit. That they can still deliver with as much energy shows that when individuals come together as a band, supporting each other. Over the years they have worked damn hard to get to and remain at the level they are at. Being honest about learning and maturing over the years, when that transfers over on to fans, the positive influence that incurs, will ensure that Maiden’s positive influence will continue even longer than the band itself.

The fact that the "classic" line up still together and Janick is great, he really does bring that little extra that band needed and the fact they do get along after all this time shows the strength and endurance of this band. Their latest albums at time has way too many long songs, they stick to their guns and I can find a passage in each song that just shines. Unlike many bands of their era, they are still going full force with the line up we all grew up and love. The play the new materials and they still do it well. Most bands of their era lives just on the classics. Maiden still plays 3-4 of the current album and that keeps it fresh. I am not one of those Maiden fans that only listens to the "classic" albums. I enjoy when they play the new stuff, in fact when I go see them I am more excited for the new stuff than the older material. The band is timeless and will be the 17th time I see them come this november. Up the F N irons always!

Have been a Maiden fan since 82. I think the constant album, tour, album, tour, pace in the early days that they set, wore themselves out. But it made Maiden who they are today! Now that they put out an album every so many years and tour at their own pace, they are appreciating it more, now. They know that they are closer to the end of the road than they are to the beginning. I noticed that their last few tours, they have been having more fun on stage. They deserve to have fun at this point in their careers. When the fun stops, it's time to go home! Hate to say it, but I feel so old at a Maiden show now. I will be 60 in June, and seeing all of the youngsters and the families, 2nd and even 3rd generations of fans that are now going to Maiden shows is a testament to the appeal of Iron Maiden. Doubt we will ever see another band that reaches the world wide appeal that Maiden has reached despite no support from mainstream media.. will be a sad day for me when Maiden calls it a career, since I still haven't found a newer band that hits me like Maiden has. Hopefully Maiden has a few years left in them, their shows are still phenomenal! Am not ready to let them go yet. lol

Long lasting bands mirror the stages of human devleopment, in that things move faster and a year is more meaningful in your formative years. The difference between your 16 year old self and your 20 year old self was huge. Those 4 years we packed with changes. But the 4 years between 51 to 55 pass by in a flash, and little about your world view or attitudes change at all. So yes, Iron Maiden between 2000 and 2025 might be a lot of years, but none of them particularly transformative, it's just 25 more years of them being what they already were (which I don't mean as a negative, it's just how life works).

Maybe it's just the way Adrian doesn't move around much onstage, but, he and Janick never seem to have the same camaraderie that both of them do individually with Dave. I'm not implying they don't get on. I'm just saying their relationship _appears_ to be more professional than friendly. Dave has been in the band for all the major eras and perhaps he's part of the glue that binds this lineup of the band together as a unit.

Iron Maiden continues to peak. As with any band there's testosterone and ego. And with an epic band there's going to be haters that can't stand the power and energy this band brings to its stage that many never rebound and crash that Maiden continues to soar.

I bought their first album the day it came out.

When they hired janick Gers me and my friends were shocked. But now I'm not shocked as much since helloween has 3 guitarists. But I swear I saw janick live just twirling his guitar sometimes haha.

Maiden has only came to KC 3 times since the '99 reunion--BNW, SSOASS retro tour, and BOS. They've filled the venue each time so I don't know what the problem is.

Guess what? They’ve all grown up a bit since the Eighties!

I am old school 80s Maiden, from when I was a kid. I've been wishing for the original 5 for the last 35 years, but know it'll never happen.

Makes sense… we all want our heroes to last forever, but yeah, that day will come… hope not soon enough…

This IS the "classic era" of Iron Maiden. Probably the only band to have their "classic era" as the entire latter "half" of their career. Maybe the songs aren't all quite as awesome but i think that's the novelty effect as much as anything. Most fans think of whatever they heard first as their favorite regardless of the era or album...i think they have realized what they made in time to really cherish and curate their legacy as they mature as people and as a team and to honor their fans and each other. If only bands like Pink Floyd etc could've managed their own lives and relationships like these guys have. It's painful to watch sometimes. I've seen enough to know they are a team and a family and I've heard from folks (well, one guy) who has worked "inside" their organization that described it as a "family."

There were two lineup changes before 1982 - 1980 (Stratton-Smith) and 1981 (Di’Anno-Dickinson).

I pray that they retire and disband while still at the top of their power rather than echo KISS or any of the other ancient bands still limping on well past retirement

Because Steve Harris always wanting to make the difference, and going against the grain, I do finally realize that he does not wanting a half-arsed edition of Iron Maiden, such being 20% authentic members and some younger guys. If they ever want to stop, Steve has already think about continuing to play with British Lion, so he ensured that his thirst for the stage is not gonna get away. Since next year is 50 years anniversary, they're gonna prepare something special - I'm sure about it 🤗

The use of "conspiracy theories" simply to describe a fan thinking that band members might not like each other in real life is really pernicious.

Imagine if Iron Maiden exists in perpetuity, replacing aging members like the Ship of Theseus😂 I'm down

Wait, is Janick finally leaving?! I joke of course. I met Janick and he's a really nice guy. He's HSP like me and many others.

I met him also in Sydney. I was the first one he shook hands with and I was wearing a Megadeth T-shirt LOL. He is a good bloke. I was early twenties then and didn't judge. He was just happy to be there. I just don't like how the prodcuer cannot make three guitars sound good since Adrian came back. It's shit.

@@richarddean1453 yeah, you can't work out who's playing what. Yeah I met him at a Maiden convention in London in 1995. I was sitting away from the crowd of people trying to get autographs and he came running out from the huddle and sat with me. He said he needed to get out of there it was crazy. I said the same about me. So I realised he's a man who needs his own space. Like me. 😁

@@mrpositronia Us true fans can hear who's playing. It is very distinctive style on each. Having listened to them since the 70s, you notice the details. Here's a Easter nut for you to follow. On recordings (which is also the position on stage that they have live), follows the audio spectrum like this on bands: Left Center Right Dave Murray Janick Gers Adrian Smith KK Downing Glenn Tipton Richie Faulkner Glenn Tipton (Andy Sneap when playing live) Malcolm Young Angus Young Check out your records, the above is how they are placed in the mix, always!
@rabarebra8 ай бұрын
Sometimes when Angus is soloing, he's mixed between Center and Right channel to even stuff out a bit. Same with JP. On JP dual solo, harmony playing is sometimes placed in the middle. Fun facts.
@mrpositronia8 ай бұрын
@@rabarebra oh I know who's on what side. But the mix for Maiden is always mushy, from Brave New World onwards. So, being born in 1976, and only hearing Maiden for the first time when I heard Run to the Hills at 6 years old doesn't qualify me as a 'true fan'. Noted.

Unpopular opinion. The addition of Jannick Gers has muddied IM's live sound considerably and is a net loss.

I hope they do what they want and not what they feel obliged to do. Personally I'd be happy with the odd live performance from time to time.
