there are some people out there that can do amazing things and make the crowds go wild. But to do something so brilliant that it makes you breathless. No words to describe, only awe. No jealousy, only an inspiration. Bruce Lee. That is all I can say. His name in itself is a compliment because of the greatness of the man who wore it. I really do appreciate this video for sharing these precious moments of Bruce Lee.

Thing i like is that he uses common kicks, but packed with speed and precision + timing, not fancy kicks you see in movies, thats what i am also aiming for, to master most usefull kicks, not fancy rotating stuff. I went to taekwondo but i only took some of the stuff i think is usefull and can be used in real combat

Crazy is how he never comes out of the defensive stance of Wing Chun, but that style is about equal in defense and offense in either stance, you can make defenses attacks

Very clean footage of Mr. Lee at 1967 Long Beach Tournament, nice. I wish there was original audio of this I'd like to hear what he's saying. Thanks so much. On another note there's a bit of a debate about Mr. Lee on fellow KZbinr "Fight Commentary Breakdowns" that you may fine interesting regarding Xu Xiaodong, MMA, TKD, And Boxing Coaches Criticizing Bruce Lee Long Beach Footage. I thought you may find it interesting.

Is he saying Kung Fu or Gung Fu?
@zeroonezero6270Ай бұрын
I’m American born Chinese. It’s pronounced “Gung Fu” in Chinese but us Americans butcher the spelling and pronunciation quite terribly and say + spell it as Kung Fu but they mean the same thing. Another example, if you order American style Chinese food, you may see a common order called Pu Pu platter. It’s not “poo poo” - it’s pronounced and spelled bao bao which means food that makes you full or “bao bei”; means everyone’s favorite food since it’s an appetizer order.

4:07. Am I the only one that noticed that Bruce had his weak leg forward? If i wanted to punch someone as hard as i could, i would’ve had my right leg back for more torque and power. But i am no Bruce Lee...
@hughmarlowe21763 жыл бұрын
If you check his old texts on JKD, he made the case for having the power hand forward (i.e., fighting southpaw). You'll also notice this when he spars.
