The thing is that the movie genre of kungfu was unknown in the Hollywood back in 60s and Bruce lee has noticed the buzz of eastern martial arts in the United States and real opportunity to make successful movies there. Therefore, he wanted to show american people kung fu in the Hollywood movies and become a star in Hollywood. He felt he could reach this status and he really could, he had no competitors in it.. But it wasn't easy task and he returned to Hong Kong and made his dreams true..unfortunately, only after death his name started to be famous around the world.

I wasn't around at the height Lee's career, but read extensively about him. We were coming from a farm in rural Liberia, my friend found a piece of poster with Lee's Enter The Dragon. Half visible. That was in 1987. Since then, I have read everything Bruce Lee.

From the ABC/Paramount Television series, "LONGSTREET" (1971-72) in the debut episode, "Way Of The Intercepting Fist", (September 16, 1971) which introduces Bruce Lee, six years after playing "Kato" on ABC's "THE GREEN HORNET" (1966-1967). in the first of four guest appearances as "Li Tsung", the debut opener was written by series' creator Stirling Silliphant, who, with Lee, had both co-wrote a script to a proposed TV series called "THE WANDERER", about a Chinese man roaming the Old American West-and, by either a freakly timed coincidence, Ed Spielman either picked up, or obtained a similar script, which led to Warner Brothers' "KUNG FU" TV series (ABC, 1972-1975) with former "SHANE" star, David Carradine as "Kwai-Chang-Caine". Way Of The Intercepting Fist is Bruce Lee's martial arts system called "Jeet Kune Do". Because Bruce Lee had a tough time trying to find acting work in Hollywood, he flew over to China, where he immediately became a Martial Arts superstar, especially with the help of Raymond Chow's Golden Harvest studios-and very shortly, Bruce Lee's martial arts movies took off-something that Quentin Tarantino clearly couldn't comprehend, being a filmmaker who started in the 1990s with Miramax's "PULP FICTION" (1994), who, after making stupid and inflammatory remarks about Lee's superstar status from his recent movie, "ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD" (2019) showed his true ignorance, especially about Bruce Lee, who, after hitting it, big time with his Golden Harvest martial arts movies, went on to star in Hollywood's first major martial arts movie, "ENTER THE DRAGON" in 1973, but passed away before the movie's release. The "LONGSTREET" TV series was a career stepping stone for Bruce Lee, as the eventual release of the 1973 Warner Bros. movie put Lee directly on the map, way before the likes of Tarantino's film career, and his lapse of knowledge over Bruce Lee's amazing martial arts career and history!

Bruce Lee had to put up with racial discrimination in Hollywood as a Chinese American actor, while Quentin Tarantino shoots off his big mouth about his opinions of the late martial arts superstar, whose popularity still continues to gain a whole new generation of fans, who know and appreciate Lee's science and training throughout his lifetime. Tarantino, on the other hand, has that typical arrogance about himself as a film maker, and his movies have become total duds, like SONY/Columbia's "ONCE UPON A TIME...IN HOLLYWOOD" (2019), and his comments about Bruce Lee hasn't helped his filmmaking career, and he is years past his "PULP FICTION" movie, so he can talk all this shit about Lee, but he'll never match Lee's immense popularity!@@user-kn3oc8zq8r

we are so use to these dialogues now after years of listing to the " be water .." etc that we forget that this is BEAUTIFUL, the way he makes fighting and philosophy basically ONE..... put this in a more mysterious / ancient setting and it will look 10 times better than any of those Kung Fu episodes. anyone explain what is this ..... "your thoughts are wrong" and "that is your problem" ( when he said "i do think") ..... I know Joe Lewis wrote about that in his Bruce lee book . anyone elaborate ?

@@tubucoco Popular, long-lived old newspaper strip about a blonde housewife and her husband Dagwood; spawned two one-season TV shows in '57 and '68; Bruce was in an episode of the second series called "Pick on a Bully Your Own Size," where Dagwood is being picked on and goes to, I believe, a "karate" instructor for lessons. The actor, Will Hutchins, had done a number of Westerns and said the "fastest gun" he'd ever seen was Lee, who did his famous "I'm going to snatch that dime out of your hand before you can close it" trick. Will thought he'd won because he felt the coin still there, then when he uncurled his fingers it was a penny, lol.
