Charlie! Great vlog, I like you didn't really care for the Bruceploitation movies, but as a 13 year old I was hungry for anything to do with Bruce Lee even if it only showed a few minutes of the real Bruce in the beginning or somewhere in the movie. That said, I have a copy of the box-set and Michael did a tremendous job with it. To me, at the end of the day feels that the Bruceploitation movies are truly a part of Bruce Lee history and marks a moment in time on how this dynamo of a guy took us by storm and on his passing left us so out of it for lack of better words that we didn't care that the guy on screen was not the actual Bruce Lee but for the moment we watched we felt like we had him still somehow. So Kudos to Michael and this vlog and if you love Bruce Lee History then you need to have this in your collection 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Charles! Excellent review on this box set. My curiosity got the best of me through your review. I ordered my box set, more so on the documentary. If it really explains the void we all had during that time, then I could understand the reason for its release and why it was made. I as well as you and many others went to go see all the Bruce Li, Bruce lo, Bruce le , etc. imitators that were out there. To some degree it was therapeutic to see these movies. I had a very negative opinion of the Bruce clones back in the day, but I've bought this DVD and having watched it I feel that the the clones have come of age. The clone films are still awful, but from a historical point of view the DVD is well worth watching.

Thanks Charles really enjoyed your video, I found the documentary useful in learning how disgusting the exploitation of Bruce Lee became after he died. The HK film industry paid not a shred of dignity or respect ultimately to Bruce, if we are being honest, no matter how 40 plus years later people may try to repaint that period in the documentary-Grim, cheap, despicable, that period really has zero redeeming features (the released version of game of death being the ultimate insult by Golden Harvest?) other than the earnest work of Bruce Li who I think tried to be relatively earnest in his portrayal, particularly in Bruce Lee the man the myth. Bruce was an artist and philosophical minded fighter who sought to grasp reality, to cut out bullshit - these exploitation movies are at best cynical cash ins fooling gullible and genuine fans alike, and at worst disparaging caricatures that further create lies about a flawed but phenomenal human being who passing away at 32 deserved so much better by all concerned.

Hi Charles, Great Episode. I am glad you review this box set. It looks like I am Going to order a box set. I heard rave reviews on the documentary. Lots a great Memories. My personal favorites was Bruce Li and Dragon Lee. I have a couple of their movies at home. I tell you that Bruce Lee left a huge Void that is still not fore filled. In my opinion, Sonny Chiba was second to Bruce Lee at that time. By the way there's a Bruce Li movie that is lost that I seen and it was one of his earlier films. I hope they find it. Hey Charles!! Awesome episode!! I've seen previews of this and it looks awesome! This is my youth!! Going to the movies every Sunday to see these movies!! You're correct after Bruce Lee died there was a huge void and these guys especially Bruce Li (my favorite as well) put butts in the seats. There was a period for a couple years here in Chicago where Bruce's movies weren't shown and these movies filled that void. I tried to explain that on another channel but my point got missed!! You get it!! These guys and their movies were my teenage years and bravo to them and their legacy...yes legacy!!

Hi Chuck Great presentation of this set. I am the same age as you and everything you said resonated with me. I had, as probably most others of our age, the same reactions and feelings when he passed. I like you was just getting excited about Bruce and then one night while laying on my living room floor watching TV my mom, who overheard me talking about Bruce lee recently, was reading the paper when she told me Bruce Lee died. I did not believe it. My heart sunk. I was a fan of his when he was Kato years before but did not know who he was. My reason for studying martial arts for over 30 years. I think I will consider this set. Yes, I too was hoping to see Bruce in these knock offs only to be disappointed most of the time. Fun piece!!

Great show again Charles. These films certainly filled a void for us at that time. I think they would have been made anyway, but without Bruce's name or likeness so much. Since Hong Kong films regularly ripped off soundtracks from other films, exploiting Bruce's popularity is in keeping with their practice. Like you said, some of the films with "Game" in the title came out before Golden Harvest made Game of Death. So Raymond Chow was at fault for waiting so long because the yellow tracksuit and pagoda had already been used. Great interaction on the LiveChats as well.👍🐉

Hi Charles I bought only the documentary man I freaked out all the effort to put this together is amazing one thing about the bruce li movies that they would show posters of bruce on the back ground magazine's and news papers and also remember black dragon with ron van cliff them showing bruce lee memorial magazine's that they were holding up talking about his death in the movie yes this box set is worth adding to your collection and I wanted more can't wait for vol 2

Bought it on digital from Vudu…the video is good and shows the three Bruce Le, Li and Dragon Lee talking about their experiences with personal I interviews on camera. It’s good and I enjoyed the Bruce Lee exploitation films! The guys respected Bruce and just rolled with the punches to make a living. Bruce Le was my favorite….he looked better…

This is always very nice, but most of the time we see this just being released in the U.S.A but Never in Europe. Or just certain countries. Last year there was a Knight Rider box set with all episodes including everything related Knight Rider ever, including the dorky Team Knight Rider TV series of the 90's. But guess what.. They only released it in Germany. And by the time I got air of it, all these boxsets were already sold out. Now being on the internet for over more then 1000 dollars. Well, that ain't fair is it? It is always the same shit. Announcement here and there, but in Europe we don't see it anywhere. And that is very strange because it is all produced in Asia 9/10 times, and then shipped via our port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. I agree with you by the way. I also think Bruce Le is the best impersonator of them all. The reason for this is because he puts the humor in his films that Bruce also incorporated into his films. But he also had a certain type of face so that you could accept it from him. But he was also different from Bruce Lee himself. You accepted him as an imitator, but he also had his own style. And imitated Bruce Lee's emotion scenes quite over the top, which made it funny. But not in a way to make fun of Bruce. Those other actors were real imitators who had rather poor physical motor skills, and tried to imitate Bruce exactly, but failed miserably. I have all his movies on the hard drive, but if I could get a better option I would buy this set. (depending on price). Would be nice to see all those films in better quality with subtitles and the like. Maybe multiple audio tracks in English, original Cantonese/Mandarin, Spanish, German, etc. I'm really curious about this set and what we can expect. I hope to see it on this Blu-Ray set myself.

There really was no end to the many different ways that Bruce's name and likeness was used back then. The first Kung Fu film I ever saw was Exit the dragon, Enter the Tiger starring Bruce Li. I did think it was a sequel to Enter the Dragon (like the Pink Panther films) as I wasn't a fan at that time. The difference very noticeable but served a purpose and obviously made money.👍

Excellent, I too have had mixed feelings about the Bruceploitation films. In the Seventies, we would see the previews but my small-town only had two drive in theatres opened in the summertime. I was always inquisitive but rarely did I see one. I think because Michael Worth's efforts and hard work, and after watching the documentary and all the films, I gained an incredible admiration and appreciation for these actors and their lives and efforts.

Fantastic c review Charles. Like you, I was never a fan of the Bruceploitation films. I always struggle to even get to the end of most of them. However, the documentary is fantastic and quite poignant, seeing how the actors wanted more for themselves. It was great to see Bruce Li involved, seeing as he was probably the best and most popular of them all...

I agree with you 100% the closest one a Bruce Lee clone was Bruce Li out of all the remakes of Bruce Lee movies the best one to me was the Bruce Lee Story and then in America they read name that called The Secret of Bruce Lee it's the same picture but just a different name if you look at the details of that movie is The Story Goes about how Bruce Lee came to America he went to school he was teaching Kung Fu in California then some bullies trying to bully him and then they tried to force him to teach Kung Fu to foreigners and all that then at the end of that movie if you really pay attention to it Bruce Li he's fighting the guys is doing karate then he's fighting the guys that have metal staffs then he bust out the the Kung Fu sticks and you can see some of that JKD Style he was very informed on Bruce Lee I totally agree with you

I think anyone that was a legend and died early has their share of imitators. Elvis is another. .. I actually like a lot of the old 70's Wu Tang movies. I prefer Carter Wong or Hawng Jang Lee, David Chan than the Bruce exploits though. I like the to watch them cause of Bruce but not to remind me of Bruce. If that makes sense. There were so many imitators other than the top 3 guys. First the hair cuts of Bruce Lee is enough for you to do a separate video of. Most copy the ETD hair style. I actually never liked Bruce Li too much myself but I saw him first in the late 70's in Bruce Lee Story and Dynamo. The sped up moves were hard to watch in some of his. I used to watch his at the local theater called the Liberty Theater for a buck in the late 70's. I was like 13. They showed those more or Goodbye Bruce Lee instead of the real Bruce movies..I used to see the ads in the local paper. Dragon Lee, Korean body builder bulky looks like he is 5 foot tall though. His faces are just comedy and the thumbing the nose and the whoops. I liked a couple of his movies where he is not playing Bruce. Bruce Le looked a bit like Bruce from afar of course with the shades and fought Bolo a lot. His martial arts were really odd and I usually lost interest in about 20 into it. I have to go back and watch a real Bruce Lee movie after watching one of these clones.
