The way Jodie Henry closed the gap so fast and dominated the rest of race gave me goosebumps!! Outstanding!!!

Mollie reminds me of Jodie with her backend speed! Mollie is like Jodie Henry with a better start.

Look how fast Henry’s feet are kicking in the last 50m, compared to the girl next to her. I’ve never seen someone kicking so quick underwater! 😮

This team changed Australian women's sprinting - Alice, Libby and Jodie particularly - they were the inspiration for the Campbell sisters, for Molly, Emma McKeon, even Arnie. Australian Women's swimming came alive. Cate Campbell took it to another level. But Libby and Jodie particularly - they were the renaissance of Australian Women's sprinting.

Jodi Henry inspired Libby, Cate, Bronte, Emma and Mollie to make Australia the undisputed 100 relay team in the world!

Jodie Henry was unreal. Besides Thorpey and Phelps, she was the best I've seen.

I guess you're too young to have seen Shane Gould. She was a machine. Search for her 400m at Munich. No goggle. Saggy old textile cossie. And Tracey Wickham also. But yeah - Jodie was a champ, for sure.

The progression of this event over the last 19 years is amazing. The Australian team at the 2023 World Championships set a new world record of 3:27.96, about 8 seconds faster than the 2004 record. The 2004 time by the Australian team would have placed them 7th at the 2023 World Championships. Jodie Henry's split (the fastest ever at the time and the only swimmer under 53 seconds) would have been comfortably the slowest on the 2023 winning team. Twelve women swam under 53 seconds in the 2023 final.

Current WR is nearly 8 seconds better than the time swum this particular night, now sitting at 3:27.96. That crazy back end swim by Jodie Henry that had the commentators gushing was 53.2 seconds. The worst split for the new WR was 52.3 seconds and the best was 51.7 seconds. I wonder how fast they will be in 20 years time??

Bruce has always been a top race caller and a voice I have loved to hear as a knowable and fair commenter. Our ladies did us proud. I'm a proud father of two top swimmers with state and Australian titles. They did not make the Olympic team due to injuries and illness. But they continue to swim, as do I. A good training swim gives great brain chemicals flowing. We all crave it. My sons laugh as they pass me each 150 metres - which makes me happy. Happier is when one adult son after a party was offered sex from an equal aged swimmer. As she had been drinking alcohol, he avoided it and thanked her the next day.
