I served as General Manager for FastStaff, sometimes we had 20 min meetings coordinated by our Area Supervisor. Covering issues, problems, game plans. At the end of one meeting, after the Area Supervisor left, some employees accused me of ALWAYS agreeing with what he said and never arguing, or fighting on important issues. I told them, you're right, and you will NEVER see me Do that with him infront of you. What I did not tell them, key phrase "IN FRONT OF YOU", always, 30 mins prior to the group meetings me and the Area Supervisor would fight tooth and Nail for almost 45mins, sometimes getting very heated, about subjects we dissagreed with or I felt he was wrong, Sometimes I did not care if he fired me , I was gonna say what I had to say and many times he conceeded, other times we reached a compromise, and many times we agreed we had to do things because it's what the company demanded and could not change it. But, our game plan was set and we agreed its how we would proceed, so when presented in front of the subordinates, WE were in full agreement of what was going down. Infront of others we are unified, In private meetings prior ,its a civil war. Ask him if I was a "Yes" man..he would tell you, if he had a dime for everytime I did NOT fight against his plans, he would have exactly 10 cents..

I worked at a place where one of our top clients was a company where my dad was temporarily a CEO. During this time, I felt a tangible shift in people's behavior towards me, including rather shameless ass kissing. I hated it. Usually I like to keep a professional distance and it was really hard to keep a healthy, normal perspective on things. When you see people for example laughing at your jokes just because who your father is and you know they didn't laugh before. You were fucked either way - keep a distance and they see you as "look, sonny here thinks he is better than us". Or accept the behavior and then it's "look, sonny here is enjoying getting his ass kissed". I really hated it. It's literally impossible not to let it get to your head at least somewhat, you need to think about it all the time.

The *REAL* issue here was Stephanie's colossal-insecurity about being in over her head in that position. Bruce screwed up, but that is not even close to being a fireable-offense based on things others have done and are STILL doing. She took advantage of this situation to manipulate it in her favor. Bruce definitely is Vince's crotch-jockey sometimes, but he didn't deserve that. However, I think overall it was the best for him and her quite frankly. She realized how inept she was in that role and that's why she stepped down to focus more on being the Chief Brand Ambassador which she DOES do a great job at and ultimately Bruce is back doing what he did before.
@Jim-Tuner

The real issue was Bruce's "demons" and bad habits. He has been sent home more than once and been sent home by Vince McMahon himself in the past. His bad habits are under control these days, but back then they were not under control.

They worked together for so long, clearly there is a relationship there that exists even after he was fired. Also keep in mind Vince did so much for him over the years, paid him so much money. He’s not just going to bury him even if he’s upset over how he got fired. I’m super critical of Bruce but this is something I completely understand. It’s not that he’s trying to stay in “good graces” with the company, it’s that you just don’t bury someone like that when you have had such a long relationship. This wasn’t even the first time he got fired, and it probably won’t be the last either since he is back there now (this was recorded before he went back)

This is a highly selective and self-serving version of the story. 1) This was NOT the first time the WWE sent Bruce Pritchard home to think about things. 2) Even in the days when it was "guys around a pool", Bruce Pritchard was known for being paranoid and insecure in terms of his co-workers. See what happened with Jerry Jarrett and Raven when they were in the front office. 3) Bruce used to have alot of problems. What he would call "demons". Those are a big factor in the story here. 4) Bruce was challenging Stephanie McMahon in front of the people who worked for her. The way he was acting was communicating to people that he was really in charge rather than her. 5) If Bruce had been right, Vince McMahon would have intervened in his favor. That Vince McMahon went along with what was done says everything about the situation. Bruce would not accept it, but by that point Vince McMahon wanted Bruce gone as much as anyone else. 6) Bruce doesn't really explain how having a gun in locked box turned into a story of him pulling a gun on a specific person who was still working in WWE. Stephanie would presumably have talked to that person about before talking to Bruce. If that person had said the story was false, she would not have asked Bruce about it. It just doesn't add up. 7) Bruce's attitude has always been that he is a user of drugs, but that he doesn't have a "drug issue". 8) Bruce could pass a drug test in WWE because the drug tests in the WWE back in the day were a joke. There were all kinds of guys who did serious drugs who had clean drug tests. 9) The vacation thing was a big deal because almost nobody else could get time off during the holidays in the WWE in that era. It wasn't him being "creative" about vacation. It was him being able to get away with doing something nobody else would be allowed to do.

There is probably more to it than he really shares. Honestly, I think the biggest part was probably his attitude being viewed as undermining Stephanie who is already struggling to be respected in her position. And I think you mix that with the fact that WWE was no longer just three people around a pool booking and comprised of a team so the long-term picture probably seemed that the distractions Bruce brought was probably not worth the effect it could have on how the writing staff viewed their surprise as a large team of creative staff likely made him seem expendable when in a previous era it may not have. While Bruce has copped to being sent home multiple times this doesn't totally factor for me. Look at someone who appeared to be a model employee at every step like JR who still got sent home lots of times. I think that's just how things go in WWE more than being indicative of behavior flaw in the employee. That said I don't doubt there were likely things Bruce did do that made it easier to let him go.

I’ll never get why ppl want Bruce to unnecessarily burn his bridge with Vince or WWE over a podcast? He’s mindful of what he says because you never know what life has in store for you,especially when you got a family to provide for. Who knew Adulting and being Mature in how you speak about ppl you may have to do business with again is so frowned upon. Yeah just go on tv/podcast and trash WWE so when the indies cant afford you and the other company lets the inmates run the asylum…you can be broke and struggling because you needed to be funny on a podcast. Smh wrestling fans are so….odd in their logic sometimes.

Ehhh…kind of making excuses for Steph . She should have known the relationship and been able to understand it. She sucked, her and triple h help tank the company creatively. By making it “the triple h show!”. Drove millions of fans away . Vince too . But That’s why I laugh when people worship triple h right now . The bar has been set so low since the old man lost it . Everything Triple h does is gold now . Even in late 99-2000. Triple h’s microphone time was ridiculous. Just long winded, boring promo after the other . For like 5 years straight . It’s what drove me away .

While she definitely is _that,_ I don't think _that_ was the factor in her canning Bruce. She knew she was on some other-ish and when you do people wrong you get paranoid. She probably in the back of her mind thought that Bruce......just might.........you know. It's irrational yes, but that type of stuff permeates your mind when you feel guilty and screwing people over. You are always looking over your shoulder.

Oh I'm sorry we can't be called fans we are called the WWE universe. So stupid. We can't call them wrestlers they are super stars. Is Stephanie forgetting the second word in WWE??
