I’m not saying he’s racist, I’m pretty sure he has some primitive views about some groups of people based on the environment he grew up in since he’s made some remarks about certain groups that weren’t in a comedic context. We all have at some point or another, it’s The concept of speciation, it’s ingrained in our humanity, that doesn't quite make someone racist in a logical sense but in today’s cancel culture society, it instantly makes you a racist. He’s not racist but he’s primitive in his way of thinking and that doesn’t go down well in 2020, it’s very much out with the old in with the new at the moment. Some of it is good, and some of it is really toxic and produces a push back resulting in things like trump and brexit. The world couldn’t be more confused right now and it’s simply because there’s too many of us

But I don’t know why leftist think people of color are incapable of having their own thoughts and feelings about things and need to be told what’s offensive and what isn’t. If I make a bad joke or say something that’s in poor taste and a black person says to me, “dude, that was pretty fucked up” then fine. That’s fair. It's not that people are more sensitive nowadays. There have always been a small amount of people who you could call 'professionally offended'. We've all probably heard of the term 'moral majority' and parents' council type associations who launched campaigns against obscenity on television in decades gone past or those mailbag programs where someone would write in complaining about an offensive thing on last night's program. It's not a new thing. The only thing that's new is social media which allows these people to organise and find each other and amplify their outrage. And that scares advertisers who do not want to lose one cent from an abiding association with something controversial, which in turn scares broadcasters who do not want to lose advertising money. And because these professionally offended people can amplify their presence on social media, it makes it seem like they're everywhere, especially in the eyes of those who get annoyed about them and seek them out to battle. Lesson is - if advertisers chill out a bit, and broadcasters relax a little, and those professionally annoyed about the professionally offended find something else to do, then 'cancel culture' loses all of its power and we can move on with our lives.

Hell no. I'm a huge Jim Cornette fan so I'm aware of his humor and other racially insensitive history. And I really do believe that when it comes to race and social awareness, he has matured over the decades. However also being from the south, I know that certain stereotypes and mindsets are engrained into some people. Bottom line, do I feel like Jim is racist? No. Do I feel like his joke was shitty and should have been edited out? Yep.

Gotta say Brians logic was kinda fucky in this one. "I don't need a bunch of white boys telling me if something is antisemitic or not." but you're comfortable saying Corny wasn't being racist? Surely by your logic it's not your place to say that? I don't disagree in any way I'm just a pedant when it comes to stuff like that, sorry. For the record I totally agree with Jim, the twitter mob is just absolutely desperate for that hit of righteous indignation they crave so much. Being able to shout and scream about nothing shit like this so they can feel like they're superior and can show everyone how much of an "ally" they are is what they love most.
