Many artist, with the lyrics and theme of this song, would be all melancholy and sing it in a depressed fashion. What makes this song so cool is how Bruce sings it and the music. It has an uplifting, fun and happy beat. It’s Bruce sayin...you don’t like me, I’m not good enough, then fine. I’m happy and will move on and don’t need your criticism. Great

It still boggles my mind that he left this one on the able for some thirty years. This Gary "U.S." Bonds like song understandably didn't belong on what emerged as the DARKNESS album. But DAMN!...that's a A-side pop hit if ever there was one! The assembled video (using actual footage of him recording the main vocal in the studio) brings to mind the one that came to light some years ago for The Beatles' HEY BULLDOG.
