I agree. I was a young teen when this song came out and I didn't gave enough life experience to understand how profound this song is. Fast forward more than 20 years and I now realize just how deep this song goes. Within this song is the struggle of loving someone and wanting to know who you're with, but understanding that we can never fully know another, just as no one can truly know every facet of ourselves. It is an uneasy truth to face. One that I've had to face after a very long marriage. I realized I didn't know so much about the man I was married to for 20 years. I only knew the parts of him he wanted me to see.

Something great happened in 68. A great artist performed his music full blown and then stripped himself down with just a guitar. They called him The King. For an artist to perform live and stripped down ...when we suddenly realize that he is most compelling this way.... only shows how great this artist truly is. Bruce certainly did it here.
