Springsteen grew up poor. I was three years behind him in Jersey. His family could never have the house that my parents had, and my parents were not rich. He grew up in a half of a duplex in Freehold, miles to the south of me. I often went as a kid to NYC, a bus-ride away, and my mother loved the art shows in Greenwich Village. I love the picture of him, a teenager, standing outside the Cafe Wha? in the Village, and the carousel on his album is the one I used to ride at the shore. He's a solid Jersey guy, humble and thankful for his blessings. He is a remarkable talent in his craft, but in addition, I know that he has that Jersey heart of helping others and never getting too big for his britches. I don't know him personally, but I know him as a homeboy.

This was actually the Brisbane concert, Feb 2017. We chatted to Nathan after, lovely kid. It was the second time he'd been up on stage with Bruce. My kid had a sign also and wanted to play Born to Run with Bruce. Instead, he called my kid over at the end of the concert and offered up his harmonica. Had hoped to get footage from one of the many around us filming, but alas, a couple from NZ said they'd email it and never did. Such a great memory. Bruce is a truly gifted musician, singer and songwriter. It is so lovely of him to inspire the next generation with offering opportunities and gifting them instruments. God Bless him.

He is the Boss, because he'd payed the entire crew, (stagebuilders, guards etc) and the 'touring band' (not E-street band) their paycheck. That's how it started a long long time ago. (Still is paying their paycheck ofcourse) Someone asking a question about something and the other guy answered with "ask the boss'. Since then, Bruce is 'the Boss' because he was their boss, they worked for him. That's all, that's how he once got that name. Fans took over 'the Boss' and it became a title.

Bruce does it all the time...Kids as young as three and four to sing Sunny Day with him, fans who dance on stage with him and the other band members on Dancing in the Dark...I just watched a hilarious compilation video of dozens of fans dancing on stage. No other performer like him!

Bruce's smile says so much about how he felt up there with that kid. That was f fantastic.

This is why I love this man...Few musicians that I know of do this and Bruce does it more often than most.

I saw Bruce live when I was young, and he was as awesome then as he is now. Seeing this video and watching it over again brought tears to my eyes. This boy knows his music and can go far if he continues. I am certain that moment in time will give him the something that he needs to move up there. What a memory. I have had mine, but not like that.

Why am I crying? Maybe 'cuz its deep into 2020 and I need just a little of that human touch. Also this kid killed it. What a beautiful moment.

everybody keeps saying that this kid, Nathan, will never forget his moment. But nobody appreciate how good and confident the lad is. On guitar, vocally. And brave. Not being intimidated by being in presence of the Superstar and his personal hero. I find this boy amazing. his family must be overhelmingly proud of him.

You know who's brave? Springsteen. A legendary star who does not hesitate to share the stage with kids as young as three or four years old to sing his heart out, along with them.

@@jayelliott7278Bruce always takes time during his concerts to encourage kids. It’s nice to see.
