Bruce Springsteen - If I Was The Priest (original 1972 demo) - New Mix

If I Was The Priest has always been one of my Bruce Springsteen top 10 songs. I'm glad it got a new audience with the new Letter To You version. Nothing tops the original demo version. I’m a sucker when it comes to unreleased obscure songs.
I wanted to give the old version a new life with a new mix. Some call these remasters, but this was so heavily edited, and I can’t call it a remaster anymore. New mix introduced a couple quirks, but overall I’m really happy with the results.

Brucebase:
Recorded at Mediasound Studios, 311 West 57th Street, New York, NY during May-July, 1972, a solo acoustic number. It was never recorded at the Greetings sessions. According to comments by Bruce this was written in late 1970 or early 1971. Performed live at The Student Prince in the fall of 1971
