Brother and I went to pick up my grandmother to bring her to our place for Christmas dinner tonight. She is slowing down quite a bit so she doesn’t do as much of the things she used to these days. We were driving to my house and this very song, Bruce Springsteen’s version was playing on the radio. I started singing along a little and next thing I knew she had joined in a bit herself! This song was on the juke box at the little dive bar I frequented the "GFN" in So St Paul, Minnesota. I would play this sone every night I was there -even in July. i would get "who played this god dam song ?" The GFN burned down in 2000-I figure I have saved $50,000 and a kidney by now.
