Will never forget this concert. Caught it in New Orleans, Christmas time. After the mid show break this was the first song out of the box. What a show. At the end of it, we all thought we owed Bruce and the boys more money! Nothing like it. Can still hear Clarence blowing the roof off the place. Some good times. Thanks Bruce and Merry Christmas.

Gosh.....I was 9 years old when this song was performed in 1978. I had just gotten my first dog that summer. This was a fantastic Christmas for me. I had my little doggy and was so happy. She's long gone now but I've never forgotten her. I have a Christmas ornament I put out every year that contains her picture. I miss you my sweet Lacey♥

Actually, the original one was performed in 1975 at CW Post College in NY. So you were 6 (like me) for that one. That is the version we all hear and love on the radio every year.

I was born in 1965. Grew up in Southern California listening to the Mighty Met; KMET 94.7 Los Angeles. It's Christmas Eve 2020. Tonight, while cooking my Socially Distanced and Isolated dinner, this song came on my Pandora "Rockin' Holidays" radio station. To the best of my recollection (at least in so Cal..), John and Yoko's "Happy Christmas" was one of the first. Then there was this one. Shortly after that, the Kinks blew the door wide open with "Father Christmas" (my personal all-time favorite!!), and the genre was born. But this song for sure paved the way for the "rockin'" holiday commercial disaster that was to follow. Just a fact. Don't blame the originators. Give 'em the props they deserve!!! 😎🕎🌟✌🎅

Bruce & The E Street Band FIRST performed "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" on December 12th, 1975 at C. W. Post College in Brookville, New York. It was immediately played over and over again on many of the local radio stations the very next day. I remember it like it was yesterday - but that's another song altogether. An impressive multicolored bootleg "45" that played at 33 & a third rpm's was also released of this concert. I still have my copy. Anyone want to make me an offer? lol
