I played this magnificent music my very first night in my own apartment many moons ago. It never gets old. Thank you for the music.

Genius song. Really no verse or chorus. It's a journey, something always new around each 'bend' of the 'road', of this delicate, sensitive song. Yes, it's a thunderous road, but it's our life and we can't or should not do anything but roll down the window and let the wind blow through our hair when we can!! And we can if we take control of our journey, we can roll down the window at will. Do it now!! All we have is NOW!!

I've listened to this 1000 times and it never ceases to amaze me. The best version of the best song ever written. It doesn't get any better than this.

I saw Bruce in concert 44 years ago when I was a sophomore in college. I loved the full-throated, up-tempo version of "Thunder Road" with the E Street Band. But this simple, stripped-down version has a charm all its own. The great artists can do that--re-make a song that makes you stop and take notice. Well played, Mr. Springsteen. Well played.

Having listened to different variations of this song over my life, this version fits me perfectly now as I start a new relationship at 55. Frank, simple, forthright, soulful.

Having seen for the first time 47 years ago his music traveled with us from our teens to our sixties. This song has a familia feel to our lives as many of us grew up to this incredible band!

My all time favourite Bruce song. Used to sing this every day on my way to work. Brilliant. Xx

Hey me too. Still do, both to and from work. Also sang it lullaby style to our first born. It’s all of Springsteen distilled into one song.
I hope before I depart this world, I can see Bruce in Houston again. His music had gave me comfort on my road. It seems like a lifetime ago that l saw him @ Liberty Hall. Wait it was. This song was the first song l heard when l got my TDL

I was looking for Thunder Road, I came on this and I thought, "this ain't Bruce" then I looked at the date. My next thought. I love you Bruce Springsteen, I'm 69 years old, my wife and I are out on thunderoad in our Airstream! Oh come take my hand..... sigh!

Where exactly did Springsteen pick up that midwestern twang? I love this song so thoroughly but the accent seems like a shameless and inauthentic affect.

A good excuse for the NYC yuppies to feel American when they go watching the Boss on Broadway with this bare to the bone rendition. But, they are out of the theater, they can go back to business and get a lotta money!!!!

Nah, it's not that bad. A little casual here, but still a great song. It's his song. He can sing it the way he feels like singing it. I love the falsetto at the end.

I don’t think it’s that bad... now, the version he did at the opening of the Zakim bridge, Boston, 2003, that was bad. Awful. It’s great to hear a great writer reimagine his great songs (and this is my very favorite) but don’t understand why a well crafted melody needs to be totally trashed. On this version here, much of it is still intact.

He's not singing, he's telling. Maybe you don't get it.
