Youngsters love saying that MJ was just a scorer, but fail to realize that he had a complete game. He was all over the court in this game offensively and defensively scoring, passing, rebounding, playing the passing lanes, on ball defense, and help defense. He even hit 3's when it wasn't his forte. Complete player!

because they dont know basketball. Today's basketball is not basketball, it is trash - with weak defense, lousy rules, and flopping players. The ONLY player worth watching is Giannis Antetokounmpo who is really an old skool player at heart. I dont even watch the modern nba anymore, there's just no point. There is no competition, it is incredibly boring and just - frankly- a waste of time. The current NBA commissioner has ruined the game - along with the modern "players".

Yeah your right today's game is all about Money, trying to make a super team to try and get a ring unlike past NBA players who played on their own team playing up against other greats . They Past NBA players/teams played each game as if it was a playoff game the rivalries where real and exciting to watch and the sad thing is they didn't come close to make as much money the NBA players make today and the played far better than today.

That interview in the beginning is what made MJ 6 Rings with the Bulls so incredible. His desire to win with the willingness to hold other players and people within the organization to his level of commitment was unmatched. He turned this crappy franchise into the best organization in basketball while he was there in-spite of the dysfunction. The way he played every possession on both ends of the floor is just maniacal! I suppose now a lot of professional lighting and staging takes place, anti-glare tv-ready varnish on the court something like that. This was a very different era, different technology. Different money. But you can see by the commercials how much the league is absolutely exploding across the culture on the back of these two plus Bird. What an exciting time in both the NBA and mass media! Then boom goes the dynamite in the 90s, man, and MJ is damn near as popular as MJ (tee hee). I'm not stoned, you're stoned.

I have one thing to say MJ played defense on Magic Johnson pretty much the whole game but in the 90s when they played at 9180% of that finals Michael Jordan played defense on Magic Johnson but they credited to Scottie Pippen and Scottie Pippen. Don’t look that hot in this game.
@theresak2024
@theresak2024 Жыл бұрын
Facts! Contrary to the opinions of some, Michael Jordan - not Scottie Pippen - most often drew the opposition’s toughest perimeter assignment. However, it was close: Jordan did so 8 times, while Scottie Pippen assumed this responsibility 7 times. Anyone who watched the 1991 NBA Finals in full would know that it was Jordan - not Pippen - who guarded Magic Johnson for nearly 85-90% of that series. The exception was the first half of Game 2 and the 2H of Game 3. Out of 24 playoff series, Michael Jordan - not Scottie Pippen -guarded the better perimeter player more often. Specifically,Jordan guarded the better perimeter player during 13 playoff series, while Pippen guarded the better perimeter player 11 times. So Pippen only guarded Magic for 2 halves....and yet most people think he guarded him most of the series. Its amazing what some highlights, reputation, and word of mouth can do!

I forgot how much Brad Sellers stank. That package about Jordan complaining about the team at the beginning was 100% about Brad and Doug trying to force a "stretch big" into the lineup with him. Doug wasn't wrong in the long run, but brad wasn't the guy and I think Jordan wanted them to draft a guard. Also, at this point of the season Scottie Pippen was coming off the bench still. So by playoff time, Pippen was starting alongside Jordan, but I guess that still didn't save Doug Collins' Job. Too bad Brad Sucked. He got fired after this season and thus the Legend of Phil Jackson was born. Phil and his Triangle bullshit, yet Douge and Jerry’s and Idea about stretching the floor with a big has proved a superior. They kinda Sorta got that with Tony Kukoc a few years later and that team set the Record for wins in a season.

Magic was the greatest overall offensive player of all time (IMO). Only reason I don’t argue when people choose MJ over Magic is because of the defensive end of the court.

Brad Sellers would have a much better time if he played today. Abused victims are treated way more kindly.

Man I have a list of guys who would be great in this current era. Being a Bulls fan I remember being pissed they drafted Brad Sellers a 7 foot guard over Johnny Dawkins who was a solid PG.
