It is so comforting to watch this, an NBA All-Star game stacked with talent, and the talent is actually competing. This is a breath of fresh air, and I actually have to go backwards and relive it again in order to achieve this. Wow!! I can't believe they posted this.... This is my favorite NBA All-Star game of all-time! I recorded this game on VHS and rewatched it sooo many times. It was Kobe's first all-star game and MJ's last as a Chicago Bull. I can recall off the top of my head how he scored nearly every single point this night. This is when I really, really started to fall in love with the NBA as a 13 year old kid. This game sealed the deal for Kobe to be my favorite player (that is... until an electric, high-flying, half-man, half-amazing player named Vince Carter came to the league the following season).

This was amazing to watch this all these years later. Kobe going at Michael Jordan, his idol, and Michael going right back at him on offense and defense. It's a joke that the players won't actually PLAY THE GAME during the all-star game and instead just run down and shoot a three or dunk. No defense at all. The guys playing now are bigger, stronger, faster and unfortunately no killer instinct to compete. 🏀 🇺🇲
