Lovely video Bruce, a delight to watch. I have one of these old girls sitting in the shed. My father bought it and we used it on the farm in North Western Victoria (Australia) for fence clearing back in the mid 80's, I was all of about 18 0r 19 years old at the time. Here we are in 2022, Dad is long gone now, but the old '500 still goes like a rocket! I really enjoyed watching this.Thank you.

Didn't start good though. My Partner 5000 starts on 3rd pull from dead cold. I had a problem with the oiler too. It was leaking out. Turned out the metal cover @8:30 wasn't flat as the screws had been overtightened. Fixed that but still it was dripping out. Pulled off the cover and re-did it with Permatex aviation sealant.

How's she goin'? Nice job on the oil pump. Man those are finicky to work on and with. I am amazed at the shine you got on that bar. The whole job you did on this saw has made it 'hot saw lumberjack show' worthy!!! I wonder why the exhaust would vent toward the bar... Thanks for sharing. Take care!!!
