Still don’t know what the problem was after watching the whole video. I have one that is running horribly rich. Finally resorted to a new carb. Same thing. Adjust valves..same. Adjust governor…same. About ready to toss this boat anchor in the lake.

Well at the end of the video I said the linkage was dissembled and assembled. Fiddle fairies?. Was the carb expensive?

Not too long ago I was looking at a pile of junk push mowers a friend collected and dropped them off on me, I looked at them and knew most of them were so obsolete that I would never need a part from them and all but maybe 3 or 4 went to the recycle yard. I should have at least taken a bunch of screws and bolts off first. I was surprised to see the voltage difference on the charging although won't have any affect on charging I wouldn't expect to see that measurable difference.

Now I feel guilty and need to change the oil and fill the tires in my neglected old snow blower. Every year I neglect it and it's never let me down once in about 14 years. Nice job Bruce. I used to weld off camera too but with an older Sony camcorder I have been getting careless about that the last year or two and been getting away with it, no problems yet with the camera. Last video I did just a couple days ago was on a welder review that was sent to me and I welded about 3 or 4 feet away, even zoomed in a little and didn't hurt the camera. I'm seriously planning to rig an auto darkening hood to a camera mount soon because I do welding videos frequently.

Thanks for the upload Bruce I was bored shitless there trying to find something to watch, you know I’m in Scotland I’ve never been up close with a snowblower so I now know they’ve got skids 👍. Big machine that, good job they’re sturdy enough, love the welding accessory box I’ve been trying to organise stuff like that for years, maybe one day lol 👍
@BrucesShop19 күн бұрын
Right. That box has evolved over time.
@mikehrdlicka863519 күн бұрын
To me it looks like a mtd built machine if so the scraper curves up onto side. I would put skids on back holes to sturdy it up more. Those buckets are not real strong. Paint stick under scraper good spacing. I also do skid repair. Good video
@BrucesShop19 күн бұрын
Thanks. If I put them much further back I ran into another bolt. Hard to describe.

Nice weld and fabrication on the snow skids. I recently replaced mine with the polymer type because the steel ones wore down and I don't weld,,,,,, yet. I still have time to learn. Lol

@len4338 horizontal welding is easy as long as you don’t need a perfect finish, it’s when it gets vertical or heaven forbid overhead that it grows arms and legs , buy a cheapo and fart about you’ll love it lol 👍

Have you tried ATF automatic transmission fluid in a leaking tire, I know it doesn't work on a tire with a hole in it from like a nail, but it does work well with a dry rotted tire, or a bead leaker?
@BrucesShop19 күн бұрын
Yes. But not a snowblower. I put some in my lawn tractor and when I turned firmly, I rolled out of the tire and rim. So now I have a slime bottle with half full of trans fluid. Thanks. I may try again.

Hello Bruce. I don't know if you remember me, I don't watch and comment a lot but I see you are still responding to all your commenters. I'm glad to see your channel is doing so well, mine has dropped off quite a bit over the last couple of years, I think a lot of it is because of more and better competition for the big truck channels and then you never know what I might put up here, too much variety in my case. I never guessed the "transmission" was so primitive and simple in design, is that common on snow blowers? they do sell them in my area (St.Louis) in the states, but don't normally have much need as when we have a big snow it's usually gone in a week or so, 4 to 6 inches would be a decent snow 3 or 4 times a year, a foot or more I have only seen a handful of times in my 67 years usually 1 to 3 inches a few times between late November and early March would be normal. Most of my small engine repairs are on mowers, trimmers, saws, pumps and the like. I'm glad you guys are still visiting Mexico, do you know Spanish? or do you just go to the tourist areas where there is enough English available.
@BrucesShop21 күн бұрын
Yes That is how snowblowers work. It is old Snapper mower technology. We do go to a tourist area but it is only a mile walk to the Mexicn parts of town. I speak very little spanish but understand more but for the slang. For example ---up here you can say "nice goin Bro". (english slang) That s hard for a newcomers to understand. We get by OK.
@GordonRobertsonDIY21 күн бұрын
@@BrucesShop Thanks for the reply Bruce. I'm maybe 50% fluent in Spanish. We have a large Hispanic community around my area so I started learning it when I moved here back in '87 to be more neighborly and I have been pretty much included in their community.

The choke lever on the new carb looks exactly like the choke lever on my old 4hp Tecumseh an my Ariens 10M4. It has that long flat lever on it that sticks out the side of the carb/muffler housing. I think I may pick one of those up just because my old carb, while it works okay is getting pretty crusty, especially up at the throttle control plate...either that or I just need to take some sandpaper to my old one, lol.
