Bruce Springsteen these songs in it „Live in Dublin” album be published (Label/Source::„SonyBMG - CD-LP”) 2007/05. This album contain 23 song, from this in the end three song name „Bonus Track”. From this album my favorit songs „Pay Mye My Money Down” and „Jacob’s Ladder”. Always I myself fascinated by these songs. Thanh you Bruce.

I apologize for upsetting you. The genius of the original singers was that there was never a definitive version of any of the Spirituals. And those who continue to sing those songs are free to adapt the songs to the occasion. I have written about this song in my M. A. thesis and doctoral dissertation. What Springsteen did in this performance is in keeping with the tradition of appropriating the themes for the specific audience.

"Brothers and sisters all" is actually a very strong reading of the meaning of the song. Higher and higher. The angels are singing the song. And this band honors the ring shout of our African American ancestors.
