My high school got rebuilt while I was attending (built a block away and they demolished over the summer). It was meant to be more secure for "emergencies". But really it was very vulnerable to an attack. Classrooms had windows, the cafeteria was just a giant open area when you came in with no doors except the ones going out to the courtyard. The library was no doors and half walls on first floor and the second floor was open like in a mall, so people threw things into the library. If someone wanted to hurt people there was nowhere to hide. They treated it like an attacker would be the one hiding so there was nowhere for people to go unseen and few doors to lock. WTF.
