Their both awful. MP tries to do too much and turns the puck over constantly, is a defensive liability, Lorhie thinks he's still a forward and is constantly out of position. They look better than the rest of this team cuz this team is that bad. Idk what people are seeing in these two cuz the eye test tells me they are a liability not an asset.

Joe: (re: Lindholm) "He just is not the player that I think everybody thought he was going to be." Direct quote. I beg to differ. I knew. All I did was pull up his career stats. He is a low 20 goals a year center. He had one really good season a few years ago and got 42 and hasn't come anywhere close before or since. He is exactly who he is, a third line center who can sub in the top six once in a while. But at the price point Sweeney pegged him at he is way over paid. This is almost the same as the Coyle signing. For years the Coyle contract was rated the worse in the NHL. Sweeney's valuation of talent is highly suspect. (And I'm being kind)

IMO they need to bring up young players to see what they have, it seems that this team doesn’t have what it takes game in and game out. Consistency please. Thursday night beating Ottawa was huge. But buckle down more consistently. I don’t see an identity yet, other than they have to play great defense because they don’t score much. Go. B’s

Zadorov is worse. Every goal they give up seems to have either Lorhie or carlo or zadorov mostly zadorov on the ice.

@@JohnnyD603 Well, they play a lot of minutes, so it stands to reason they would be on the ice for most of the goals. But I agree, the D has been terrible.

The Bruins have no choice but to see what they have in both Matt Poitras and Mason Lohrei Why? Those two are the only two players under 25 in Boston's entire organization that look like potentially real NHL, impact players of some kind It's clear at this point that neither Fabian Lysell nor Georgii Merkulov are going to be Top 6 impact players in the NHL. That ship has sailed and who knows that Dean Letourneau will turn it out to be. No one will know that answer for another 3-4+ years After those three prospects at forward the Bruins next best prospects at Forward are the following: Duran, Spicer, Locmelis, Kuntar, Farinacci, Pelosi, Walsh, Hendrickson and Jelivik You know what all of these prospects have in common? -One, all of them are 3rd-7th round draft picks -Two, all of them at their ceilings project as low scoring, two-way, bottom 6 grinders That literally makes Matt Poitras the ONLY forward under 25 that looks like a real impact player at the NHL level, again IN THEIR ENTIRE ORGANIZATION!!! On defense, like Poitras, Mason Lohrei is the only D-Man under 25 in their entire organization that projects as an impact player at the NHL level Sweezy, Mast, Callahahn Bavaro, Mitchell and Millman in Providence are not NHL players Brunet and Edward may be but they are young, late round, long shot, development only guys that project as bottom pair D men if they reach their ceilings one day After that it's more of the same, as their next best set of defensive prospects are Groenwold, Johansson, Gallagher and Kostadinski All are young, more raw, late round, long shot development guys that are all years away and all of them again, project as bottom paid D-men if they were to ever reach their ceilings as well And before any of you Bruins homers refute that this stable of nothing but 3rd-7th round forwards and d-men stinks and has little chance of altering the Bruins future.... Reality Check time, No Opinions, Just Facts!!!! Less than 15% of 3rd-7th round picks have 5+ year NHL careers at any position and once you get past the 3rd round, the percentages fall below 10% If those historic NHL draft metrics don't wake you up, Don Sweeney's own draft history of forwards and d-men in the 3rd-7th round, which is HORRIFIC, should!!! NHL Games Played Leader at Defense drafted by Don Sweeney in rounds 3-7 since 2015? TEN YEARS!!! NO ONE!!!! Not a single d-man drafted by Don Sweeney in rounds 3-7 has ever played an NHL shift NHL Games Played Leader at Forward drafted by Don Sweeney in rounds 3-7 since 2015? TEN YEARS!!! -Jacob Lauko and his lousy 83 games before getting traded to MIN -Oscar Steen and his lousy 60 NHL games before going to Europe -Joona Koppanen and his lousy 5 games before going to Europe as well So in 10 years of drafting, A DECADE, this is what Don Sweeney has added to the Boston Bruins roster at forward and defense in rounds 3-7 of the NHL Draft to date NOTHING on defense And at forward nothing but Lauko, Steen and Koppanen Three low event, bottom 6 guys, two of whom aren't in the NHL anymore and the other guy is just a bottom 6. easily replaceable piece, whose in MIN today So 100%, the Bruins have no choice but to give as much ice time and help to Poitras and Lohrei as they can because those two players are the only two in the ENTIRE Bruins organization under 25 that profile as impact NHL players TWO GUYS in their ENTIRE ORGANIZATION and both are already with the big club. #terrible Just in case you didn't get the memo, the Boston Bruins Farm System is beyond absolute trash and it's very realistic to say it doesn't house a single Top 6 forward or a single Top 4 D-Man in it now that both Lohrei and Poitras have graduated to full time NHLers and are no longer considered prospects What an absolute mess but sure, keep Don Sweeney around to draft and develop for another 10 years :) At least they've won a lot in the playoffs under Don Sweeney? Woops. 8 of 9 years they've failed to win more than one playoff round. ONE, lousy 2nd round series win in 10 years as GM, ONE!!! Don Sweeney, GM of Year Forever :) As for who they will or can even trade to help improve the team now and for the future? They won't trade the core of Swayman, Pasta and McAvoy They can't or won't trade E. Lindholm, H.Lindholm or Zadorov because all three have too much term, make too much, are oft injured, are under performing greatly and or have full NTCs They also can't trade Lohrei as he's their only real d-man under 25 in their entire organization and they can't trade Poitras because he's the only real impact NHL at forward they have under 25 in their entire organization No one will give them anything for Wahlstrom, Lettieri, Jones, Brown, Tufte, Wotherspoon, Osterle or Callahan so they aren't getting moved That only leaves four RFA/UFAs in Geekie, Brazeau, Koepke & Beecher. Go to Geekie, Brazeau and Beecher now and demand they take lower ball offers or they will be put on the trade block for assets at the deadline. I doubt any other team wants Koepke but at least make him available for trade After that it's only give other guys, four of which only have 8-10 limited NTCs. Thus, all four could be moved to two-thirds of the league and all four would hold value to other NHL clubs Carlo, Zacha, Coyle and Korpisalo (all with limited NTCs) and Andrew Peeke So realistically, the Bruins only real trade chips are the following: Geekie, Brazeau, Koepke, Beecher Carlo, Zacha, Coyle, Korpisalo & Peeke Their future 1st rounds picks aren't that valuable because they will likely be in the 20-32 ranged Their Farm System is trash so trading any guys out of it won't yield much in return either They have no valuable D-prospects any team would trade for in the minors and their two best forwards in the minors are Lysell and Merkulov. Both Lysell and Merkulov are depressed assets, neither may actually be NHL players and no other NHL GM would value them as part of any deal, they'd just be add ons to something bigger if that type of deal was out there to be made I'd trade each and ever last one of Geekie, Brazeau, Koepke, Beecher Carlo, Zacha, Coyle, Korpisalo & Peeke for whatever they could get for them though However, Don Sweeney is more likely to piss away what few assets this organization even has left on adding to this turd of team in hopes they deliver the first round playoff failure he thinks will save his ass at the end of this season Sadly, it probably will

Jesus christ dont post such big comments. MP and ML only look good on a bad/awful team, ML is constantly out of position, he still thinks he Is a forward, MP constantly tries to do too much is a liability in the defense zone, and is too soft and small to stay healthy. He looks great on this team cuz this team is that bad. We have 0 top 6 prospects on an actual good team, Lohrie is a bottom pair PP defenseman he gives up too many plays and turnovers and is probably a better forward than defenseman. My OP. But the eye test tends to not lie.

@@JohnnyD603 Jesus Christ don't go on the internet and tell people what to post Was this comment too long? Boo hoo. Reading is hard I guess for you. Maybe that's something for you to address off-line BTW. No one gave you a homework assignment. Read posts by anyone or don't, whether they're one word posts or a billion word posts. Who F.N. cares. And your winning commentary? Turn a defenseman into a forward . Good grief One, that never works at the NHL level and NHL teams aren't spending years and resources developing players at a certain position and then 5-6 years down the road re-start the process all over again at a new position for the player. And two, you clearly don't remember this... The same crap was said about Torey Krug. The Bruins caved in and played Krug at forward one game. After the game Krug was asked about playing forward, he said he never wanted to do it again and he didn't Lohrei was drafted in 2020 and has been being developed as a defenseman since he was in the USHL starting in 2018. They aren't moving Lohrei to forward no matter what your eyes tell you

This devils vs bruins game is soooo bad. This bruins team is awful. I cant even watch this trash. Zadorov and carlo are the biggest liabilities on this team. Who cares how much money they make bench them or cut them. The young players that everyone keeps demanding to see (MP, OW, Lothrie) are all awful. Litteri scored 2x but is too small to board battle he needs to go. This team is worse than the stats say.
