Soldiers in combat on the rear deck. The two participating soldiers from the junk box have their heads replaced with models from Tamiya's tank soldier set.
They bravely fight in a difficult battle situation.
Ah ~~~ Which is their tomorrow …!!!

I restore WW2 German vehicles and weapon systems. After a full restoration it's fascinating (and a bit disheartening) to watch the paint fade, scratch, chip, and metal rust due to use for movies and reenactments. You did a wonderful job illustrating the look of a seasoned armoured vehicle.

Here's a tip for painting armored vehicles models that I used for years, and, used semi-professionally: instead of using paint to simulate wear & tear, use very fine sandpaper to "polish" the model paint to inflict actual wear. This gives a particular sheen that cannot be duplicated by painting to imply distress. It makes it appear like actual steel. Try it on areas that people would walk on, etc. Another: when painting figures, the clothing must be done with absolutely flat paint with zero sheen, otherwise it looks like shiny rubber or something other than wool. Final tip: putting ammo cans, panzerfausts, etc on the engine exhausts would be a real-world, bad idea. Heat & explosives just don't mix....

I used to enjoy making airplane models, but one day I suddenly became absorbed in making tank models. This is because there is a wide and deep tolerance for modeling that allows you to freely modify your own ideas and inspirations. But if you enjoy it as a hobby, it's all fun to build ships, planes, and tanks. Thanks for your comment.🍺

Hey SMC2, on Christmas Eve, I'd just received BORDER models StuG III Aus-G- w/interior-crew & extras present.... -I'd placed the pre-order through Andys Hobby HQ-(Think hes got a review vid on the kit?)- like 6-8 months ago, I just wrote it off thinking I'd never get it, then came the Long Beach CA shipping port/boat unloading debacle, but MAN!...It was WELL worth the wait!!! -Its an >IMPRESSIVE KIT< indeed!... -Just looking @ the detail present & parts count on the sprues w/o starting the build process, its a kit I'd HIGHLY recommend-(my 1st Border Model build BTW;)- Ill prob build the Ryefield StuG IIIG w/interior kit as a comparison, as I LOVE Ryefields kits w/full interiors! -GORGEOUS build BTW, I just cant get over how close our build/painting styles are!...Ha! -Instead of pre/post shading, I follow a similar paint path: 1-Usually apply ATAK Zimmerit if needed, then prime w/rattle can grey... 2-Spray Tamiya XF84 Dark Iron together w/"model master" red oxide/rust... 3-Hair spray... 4-Spray TAM Dark yellow & camo colors... 5-Chip it up... 6-Apply pin washes with TAM black & brown panel liners.. 7-Then I build up layers dry brushing lighter shades of paint from darkest shade to lightest on all the colors used-(For instance: To do so for TAM XF60 Dark Yellow, I mix XF60 with common white latex paint in tubes, which provides for a THICK, highly dry-brushable mix. I use 2-3 differing shades for this. The thicker latex/acrylic DB paint catches on the previously exposed/chipped edges wonderfully, then providing DEPTH & faded paint wear areas that resemble the real thing in high use, wear & tear areas, as the red primer still shows underneath it... 8-Then Ill pin wash again & repeat the process, building depth... 9-Then use the "sponge chipping" technique on all high-wear corner areas of the steel... 10-Then dull coat it/apply dry transfers or decals...;)

@@smc-2 wasn't a dig mate :) - the video made the highlights look lighter than they were - some of the green post shading looked almost white on the video. Magnifique! bravo.

I don’t really understand why you do your chipping and then hide it with camouflage finishing. Normally the wear of paint affects the finished tank when it come into action already camouflaged. Except this detail all is marvellous. Great job.
@smc-2
@smc-2 Жыл бұрын
Since this is a plastic model, the chipping work will be done many times. Even if the base color is chipped and camouflage is applied over it, the traces of chipping will not be completely invisible. There are places where the traces of chipping can be seen through, giving a more complex look. Then, chipping is also applied over the camouflage. I believe that the subtle and delicate expression of the multiple layers of chipping will lead to a more complex and varied representation of the steel plate. Thank you for your comment.🍎

I was kinda curious, is there any particular reason to remove all the tid bits in the beginning with the tweezers in the beginning? I cant see an obvious reason is there is, to my knowledge no to soil paint yet.

@@silvestersze9968 If you can adjust the pressure of the compressor, lower it. You can do detailed work with ease. If you can't adjust the pressure, you'll have to work carefully and slowly.🥝🍑🫐

Красиво, но не исторично, у вас пехота на 1939г, Брумбар был принят на вооружение позже, в 1942, а фактически применялся в войсках с 1943-1945г.

@@smc-2 300 Spartans is right - helmets & uniforms fit more to era 39-42. I'm assuming your Brummbär is meant to represent 1944. In particular, you should remove the crests on the helmets. But the combat suits also looked different. Otherwise you did a really great job on the model. A real work of art and I congratulate you for it.

Great video and nice model. But, is it realistic to put canvas on the engineroom air-ventilation openings? I am convinced that no german tank commander would allow this as it could start burning or even influence the efficiency of the engine below.
