Dude, he's one of the very few western artists that I prefer singing live. That's so rare now. I mean yeah, there are artists who are good live BUT NOT IN A LEVEL YOU'D PREFER IT OVER THEIR STUDIO VERSIONS. Sorry, There is nothing to show how three male background vocalists are somehow providing what sounds like a mix of at least 20 singers, even the electronic enhanced voices are mixed in and coming in at all different areas of the song with all different rhythmic flavors where the three background vocalists don't appear to be able to cover that kind of ground - not at all. The track is revised with a live bass player but it is very easy to leave your amplifier off and dance all over the place with a bass in your hands along with a pre-recorded track that is playing through the players and singer's ear pieces and any monitors that are present (but most likely not even needed); The standard wireless earphones that they are all wearing means that they need no monitors nor does Bruno as the three backup vocalists and Bruno come waltzing out of the dressing room and appear to be singing with no monitors present as they are using earphones to hear and Bruno appears to first start singing in our view in the hallway with no rhythmic cue as to when he first yells 'Pop pop!' (I think that was also dubbed into the pre-recorded soundtrack as well and he is guessing at where to lip sync the 'Pop pop' part) and that is only a guess but I really think even if Bruno was shouting and singing and dancing like that for the entire song I can believe it's possible (especially from someone of his enormous talent) ..but there are only two keyboard players who can apparently play all sorts of chords and melodies with perfect synthesized bends while standing back there in the dark on stage (that's hard to imagine but possible) and only three guys apparently producing what easily sounds like a mixture of 20 or so voices ..all perfectly timed? ...all perfectly in key? ...The only thing that is probably 'not' pre-recorded is Bruno himself as he and the rest of the group appear to be just pretending to sing and play the entire song flawlessly. I see no reason why it would be a such horrible thing to do as most singers like even Whitney Houston (R.I.P.) admitted to lip syncing her version of our National Anthem as again, She explained there was no sound check allowed and thus no way for her to know the volumes of the crowd screaming and cheering into her microphone nor the effects that would have for the engineer to try to deal with. The other aspect is knowing when to precisely start singing to certain audio tracks (like this one) if there are audio problems and because of these things the NFL outwardly admits that they encourage performers to use pre-recorded tracks to lip-sync to so that the audience still gets to hear the performers at their best ..and even see them ..but they are most often lip syncing when they actually pretend to sing at huge live events like the Super Bowl. Bruno sang this awesome tune (or most of it, or maybe even all of it) but 'the rest' is just too hard to believe is much more than a great pre-recording done in a studio with tons of fantastic talented musicians and artists like Bruno. I think it's a 'better track' in some ways than the synthesized bass version which has other differences as well but it doesn't appear to be much more than Bruno himself actually presenting any audio in this awesome presentation; I can't realistically call it a 'totally live' presentation as Bruno could easily cut the tracks in different ways and remix new presentations as desired and just play the recordings live for the 'appearance' of it all being live - which again I don't think is a horrible thing to do especially given the shaky situation of being live on SNL where 'all too many things can go wrong' - like at a Super Bowl. Awesome song though to be sure and Bruno is obviously extremely gifted - Love it! :)
