Same reason why credit card companies will give thousands of dollars to folks that they know won't be able to pay them back right away or ever. It's more profitable when they owe you. For the c.c. companies it's the money they'll make off of fees/interest charges and for the casino it's *probably* the money they make off of him performing at their venue. It's all by design.

I can believe it. If he’s getting 90 million a year he’s not taking home 60 million. That kind of money puts you in the 40% tax bracket. Thats 36 million left before the managers, biz people, publicists, etc get their cut. Someone with a gambling addiction (and God knows what other addiction) plus the extravagant but useless things there are for celebrities to buy, especially in Vegas, it’s totally possible he could have racked up 50 million in gambling debts. MGM owns half the casinos in Vegas so it’s probably not all from one place. They probably sit back and let celebrities run up big debts so they can end up owning the celebrity and getting all kinds of performances and work from them.
