I was also initially sad to not see the band. But then quickly realized they weren’t performing the album version, and that got me right back in. Anderson’s first verse was a really cool switch up. I wondered if it was too early to be departing from the original track patterns but this turned out great and it seems people loved it so who cares

I literally busted out laughing when you said you'd F*** the song up by stopping in shock over Bruno's vocals! Nice review! I've been adamant that this is LIVE except for the instruments of course and I've gotten slammed for it by those who think it's lipsynced. I have to admit that I really wanted them on their instruments like the video, but the good ol Motown choreography was sooo tasty!

the thing that makes me happier about this collab is that is going to put Anderson Paak in the mainstream level he's been deserving for at least 4 years. He has the grammy's, he has the respect of his peers, but for whatever reason, he never been the potential superstar he could be IMO (I mean he's as talented as Bruno Mars). It's kinda like H.E.R. (But I feel Paak's music is more appealing to a broader audience). It's a bit of a shame that this is his first top 10 billboard hit ever with the number of amazing songs he's done already. But hey, Weekend needed from Arianna Grande and then Hills/Can't Feel My Face to skyrock his mainstream appeal.
