Each song has a different musical style, why? I think it's because the main ingredient for me is to stay excited in studio. I love all different styles of music and I've been listenning to all these syles of music so it feels natural that my influences come out into my music. It's fun to go onto the studio and make a funky song, and the next day a ballad, and the next day i'm making a reggae song... that's what keeps me excited which is important. I need to keep that going.

We couldn't figure out how to play 'grenade' , it wasn't even recorded yet so i said "hi, i'm just gonna sing it on my guitar"; just me and the guitar and it was so eerie. It's really hard for me to explain but it was definitely a highlight in my carreer.

Hearing the sound of my voice with the microphone was addicting for me. When did you decide that music would be your life? I was young. Every night i'd go home after school and since the first grade i'd do my homework, take a nap and then i'd go get ready to do a show and I've been doing that throughout high school. I wasn't good at sports. It's all I know.

The writing, the studio, being on stage, the promotion,... what do you prefer in your career? Definitely being on stage; you have to put your work out and enjoy the fruits and the fruits for me is to go up on stage and hear an amplified and live version of my music. You hear the instruments, your voice, you see the audience and feel the crowd. It's turning nothing to something .

It reminds me of the great 80's hooks. I love how she contributes to today's music and it's gonna be really great to see her on the show. You were on stage at 4 years-old. Did you wanted to or did your parents wanted you to? it was something that wanted and i begged my father to put me up on stage because my parents were both in the business so he put me up on stage with a Elvis' song and i started to move and dance and i was in ; i knew it was what i wanted to do.

You write a song and you keep working on it, it gets out on radio and you finally get a chance to perform it. I guess thats like the victory lap How was the first time you heard one of your songs on the radio? I was driving around my old neighbourhood, in my brand new Honda Civic - awesome car - and "Nothin on you" came out the radio and to this day that feeling never gets old; hear you song on the radio for the first time, it always has this surreal feeling

Can you tell us more about "When I was your man"? It's very hard as a man to basically admit when you're wrong and sometimes you take things for granted and you don't know what you've got until it's gone; that's the sentiment of the song. Sometimes i use these songs for therapy. It helps me being honest and it's one of the most honest but also saddest songs that i've ever written

Who supported you before all the success? My mother and father and my sisters. Knowing that this is all I wanted I decided to get through all yourself. When I got signed the first time I was so young and I'd never written a song before in my life so you can't really tell somebody what kind of artist you are and ask them to contribute you have to do it yourself. You have to say "this is who i am, take it or leave it" you can't be like "make me a superstar" .

What's your relationship with your fans? They're so sweet! Yesterday a fan offered me a bottle of champagne. And i felt like it happens only in Paris, how classy is that! So now i can tell you, i'm drunk right now What's your favorite live song? They're so different. Locked out of heaven is just a party for us on stage So, Ellie Goulding will be performing for the opening of your shows..? Yes, if you haven't heard her music, it's really really cool. Was it the first time that you've met Sting? No I met Sting before at an event but it was the first time we sang together You've sold 7 millions "Unorthodox jukebox" albums worldwide so far. Do you realize it? Yeah it's very surreal, it's very sureal just being in France, being on French TV, come here, performing in Paris. We write the songs in a studio in LA and we don't think about it when we're writing songs. It's a great feeling and it's getting worldwide, it's getting heard worldwilde.

I understood that i had to say "this is the music, this is the video, this is what i wear" ; it has to be your vision, not the label's or manager's. Best memory of your career? So far it's when i sang 'Grenade' for the first time . We were very nervous cause it was like a showcase for the bosses of the label who 'd never seen me live, they'd just heard the records; we were really excited about putting out this song but they'd never seen a show so they put a show for us in NYC with 600 people.

At the last Grammys you were on stage with Rihanna, Sting and Ziggy Marley: are they some of the artists you'd like to work with someday? I've never sung a song with Rihanna or Sting. I did a song with Damian Marley on my first album. They're all artist I'd like to work with. I'm a fan of their music, i love how they contribute to music so if I ever have time i'd like to get in a studio with them.
