Some people especially Hiphop and rap fans are only mad because they wanted Kendrick to win since he have never won Album of the Year. In fact I don't think a rap album have ever won AOTY in Grammys ever and they thought he can finally get it this year. Lots of fans were too expectant that when he didn't get it they turn all their rage at Bruno who won it instead. I mean I agree that Kendrick definitely deserve it too but if fans are mad then they should be mad at the Academy who pick and voted for the winner. Bruno have nothing to do with the voting process. He simply took the trophy the Academy gave him. This was also Bruno's first ever Album of the Year & Record of the Year award. He have been nominated before but lost to Adele which I do agree that Adele deserves it more at that time. Although I kinda disagree with your statement that Grammys have snubbed Bruno before. He only have 3 albums so far and won 11 Grammys with it. So I wouldn't call that being snubbed. He just didn't win the biggest awards before like Album of the Year because he was competing with someone bigger like Adele. But he was nominated and a strong contender w/ his past albums.

Bruno Mars transitioned into the new generation of music in the most non-artificial way possible. He had to change it up, but he didn't take the easy route like most people .... Let's not brush away the fact that Despacito was supposed to be "just another spanish song" and I quote, from Luis Fonsi himself. It just so happened to blow up. Cool, but Bruno winning this award is a testament not only to his hard work over the years to make this album come to life, but to how he was able to appeal to the masses while still delivering gold. I understand music is subjective, but don't get mad at Bruno just because you preferred the hook to a couple songs a little more. Bruno deserves this just as much.

I am so happy Bruno won. I love his music. I'm just surprise that he won Record of the Year with '24K Magic' rather than 'That's What I Like'. That's What I Like sold way more than 24K Magic & on top of that it was also one of the best selling single of 2017 (3rd I think after Despacito & Shape Of You) and it was more well receive by critics with good feedbacks compared to 24K Magic which got mix reviews. So I thought he would get nominated & won with it but it was 24K Magic instead. Anyway I'm still happy Bruno won though. Congratulations!!
