At least two seconds I guess. The P1 GTR and Ferrari FXXK are about as fast around the track as GT3 cars, but the new breed of track only hypercars like the Senna GTR, the Essenza, the Huayra R... Are all much faster than GT3 cars

Wut? The LM is just a road legal version of the GTR, converted to road use by Lanzante.. So no, it doesn't. Basically it's the same car with different tires and some other small changes.

You have understood this wrong. The LM's are GTR's. Lanzante takes customers' GTR and simply modifies them so that they are street legal. Then they add the letter "LM" to the name so that people know Lanzante touched them. Get it? Road legal GTR = LM

Ugh. McLaren made 5 GTR's for Lanzantes customers to be made into road legal cars. McLaren didn't make the LM's from "scratch". That is because they wanted to honour the F1 LM's (Lanzante turned five racing F1 GTR's into road legal LM's back in the 90's also). Yes. The LM's have slight performance advantages agains the GTR because of the removal of the air jacks and minor upgrades (-60kg) and small redesigns in aero department. But it also has less grippy tires, due to them being road spec. All in all, neither car "shits" on neither.

Because it is expensive as shit. Mercedes, Renault, Honda and Fiat are massive companies and therefore are able to spend the necessary bucks to develop an F1 power unit and justify it as marketing costs. To put it into perspective: Mercedes had revenues of 89.3 billion dollars in 2016, McLaren had revenues of 0.45 billion dollars the same year...

Mclaren shouldn't have split with Mercedes, but then again, where's the guarantee that customer engines are as good as their own teams'? It seems to me that Mclaren will be stuck with Honda until Mercedes decides to withdraw from F1, after which they might team up with Mercedes again. But the other 3 manufacturers are all based in Europe. Honda's the only one from Japan and their work culture is more like hard work rather than productive work. If only BMW or Toyota would return back to F1 (they left because of Mosley and Bernie and the engine freeze era). Mclaren-BMW might make a great combination.

LOL their road car engine are NOT made by themselves... Ricardo make engines for McLaren... They don't have a Foundry to build engines by themselves and still use the same V8 Ricardo engine. for the mp12c they use Nissan V8 basement, honestly I dont know now
