Thank you for a real honest talk. I recently got full dentures. I'm looking into further treatments when after about a year and my gums have healed and i get my permanent appliances . The overdenture seems to be the solution, I just want to wait till i get my permanent that has been designed and fitted over my immediate healing set No system seems to be perfect. I look forward to finding the right specialist when time comes and a treatment plan vs a sales plan can be sussed out.

I’m in the beginning process of getting root supported overdentures, doing the root canals. I have issues due to fosamax so I will only have 2 on top and 2 on bottom. What should I expect with only being able to have 2 on top vs 4? Also I have a history of gum disease how will this effect the tooth support and gums and how should it be treated? Currently having this done at a dental school. Having 15 teeth pulled. Yikes! Scared but excited. I have had horrible teeth for yrs, crumbling and decay due to the med. I just want to smile again. I hide my teeth all the time. I’m a nurse and I hate that my teeth look and feel so bad. It’s embarrassing. Hoping this makes a big difference in my self esteem and it’s not horribly painful. Thanks!

Your video has been most helpful and eased my anxiety about getting over dentures. I am getting the procedure done next week and wanted to ask if you feel that taking a medically prescribed Xanax should be sufficient to endure the procedure of having 9 teeth removed and the over denture put in place.

My mom is getting an overdenture placed with the removal of teeth as well beforehand..was the pill they gave you sufficient in helping you endure the pain or would you have preferred an iv sedation/pain blocker? We just don’t think a pill and shots in the gums will be enough to help her thru it

yes it is indeed possible however it will depend on several factors like the position of the implants, the type of implants and also the number of implants. You should also check the difference in lip support when changing from overdentures to fixed implant bridges as this can change your facial profile especially in the upper jaw.
