Very good advise, I was a A-2 mechanic for 10yrs! Only thing is Those Machines Need a big time cleaning!

Another note, if installed, there are two switches on the rake shaft that go to the pin camera for Vector Plus and likely other scoring systems, that will black out the machine if the rake is not fully down due to an obstruction, such as a pin, a ball, or a person. To clear, turn the breaker off, clear the obstruction, and turn the breaker back on, and the machine will come live.

Just want to add another note as an A2 mechanic, never, ever, EVER get underneath that machine if the rake is back!! We had a turret jam blackout with the machine at 180 (spider issues) and a misadjusted rake due to a bowler hitting the rake and throwing the rake cam out of time, and as we were cranking the machine back, the rake hung up on the tail plank until the cam pushed it high enough shooting it forward into the safety stop, sending the pins in front of it down the lane with a couple stopping at the foul line or on the approach. The spring tube and the force it puts on the rake is NO JOKE!! I’ve seen it push a 230 lb man out the front of a machine before. BE CAREFUL!!!
