This is how to safely clear a blackout on the Brunswick Pinsetter. I’ll explain briefly how it happens, what turns off the Pinsetter, where the safety switches are and how to properly unjam the Pinsetter without getting hurt or using a crowbar. Give me a thumbs up, drop me a comment, but most of all subscribe to my page and share it around! / @garagebowlingalley and on Facebook / garagebowlingalley

This is even better than crappy AMF Table Jams which were horrible to clear out, let alone the cups wanted to bite your fingers off when they violently snap back when you clear out a pin. Great video as always to your channel ! 😉.

Thank you ! I saw a post the other day and a guy was asking how to clear a pin jammed in the machine. What to take off first. Several were encouraging it. NOOO! Simply crank the machine backward and it reverses what it just did then you remove all the pins and turn it back on. I’ve heard of moving decks being broken by people using crowbars trying to unwedge the pin which is simply wrong as well. Then you’ve killed a Pinsetter. Hopefully everyone know how but if they don’t and even one person watching this and learns how to do something better, then I’m happy with trying to help. Thanks for watching 😁🎳

@@GarageBowlingAlley I have a video of a fail on an AMF 82-90 XL where the table drops. That mechanic tho was unable to lower the table from the chassis since the double shuttled pin causes the Cups to stay in dead straight vertical position and made the table almost came back to the home position. The dropping part is like the very wrong way and he kept checking the table after that without noticing my League mates bowling on that pair are already impatient. Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYXMfYJqhMd4Y7c

Ouch!! I assume they got it going. That thing bounced like a big guy on a trampoline! I don’t know my AMF too well, I worked on 70s years ago and seen 30s but the 90 and 70 must be very similar in operation. Parts wise. The sweep and table seem like what I remember on 70s. I remember you’d crank each to zero then hit a button to say it was at zero, if I remember right. 12 lanes were new 24 older. In my 9 months I don’t think I got more than 2 calls on the first 12. They ran nice! I’m still a Brunswick fan by far.

Sir. This video is awesome and very helpful. I'm training to do some Pin Chasing and it is so much to learn. It's a very slow process and I'm told to not rush the learning. The guys who's teaching me is a mechanic and has been doing it for like 20 years. I train during league bowling. I want to learn how to correct most situations that occur during league bowling. 180s, Out of range, blackouts, hanging pins (bananas), etc. I've watched this video probably 10 times. I really like how you name all the components. I'd would really appreciate it if you could do a video on spotting a few pins. Like the 4 and 7 or the 1 and 3. I don't care of the certain number. You choose the number if you want. 1,2, and 10 (another example). It appears to be pretty easy. But I could use a video. Thanks in advance. Love what you're doing. Keep it up. 💯 By the way. This system that you are using is the same system that I am training on.

Do you have a video on changing scissors?Also, I had a situation where the turret would not index and was dropping pins. I performed a blackout procedure even though the machine did not turn off. Recycled it several times after that and all was well again. I wasn't aware of the turret switch under the cross convoy switch until I saw this video. Understand, our machines are worn badly and that might be a factor. GREAT VIDEO as usual!

Our one pinsetter is having problems where the turret cage gets out of time with the spider, thus causing blackouts. Spilling pins all over the upper moving deck. Our techs have been there for 40 years in some cases and nobody can fix this! Any suggestions?
@GarageBowlingAlley
@GarageBowlingAlley 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it’s not locking after it indexes (dropping pins into the buckets) Let me do some thinking and get a couple ideas I’m assuming that it’s happening right after it drops the 10 pins that it’s not locking The interlock probe, make sure it’s not binding on the blocking fingers. The probe keeps the pins from dropping when it’s not time. It could be hanging up on the fingers and not going back in place I’ll go out and shoot a video for you and explain a few things. Look for it today.

We replaced the 5 pin trigger the other day and it works much better but still sends me ghost calls. I got a call for a turret error but when I got there, there was no service light flashing and people were still bowling. I told them at the desk I wanted it to run but they refused. Sad, because I want to get all of the bugs out of it. The ramp on the 5 pin trigger was broken off so that the spider wouldn't return to home position.

The lane itself is 20 feet long. By condition are you talking about oiling? or maintenance? It gets oiled every weekend for the extended live videos, but for maintenance we have never done anything to it. It is nearing needing to be re-finished though. Hmm.. thats another video idea.. 🤔 ~Aaron
