***My main issue with lane two is that well if you watched this video... as long as I hold the inside deck hook up the machine is fine. I let it go on second ball... what a mess... Can I bypass the inside hook??? Let me know in the comments below.

Shout out to all my SUBSCRIBERS!!! Update. I made a few adjustments and have everything working good. However, it only cycles properly if I hold the inside hook up. It cycles properly... Not sure why the hook is grabbing out of time which only lets the deck halfway down which then will not let the pins drop from the turret. I am pretty sure there is an additional adjustment on manual page 3-27...

After being raised on the older AMF pinspotters, I love the older Brunswick A-2. And I liked the Dura-King Brunswick pins. I own one , possibly 50 years old.I always have /had great times in a bowling alley.

Yes, Holiday Lanes was a Brunswick house with the A model pinsetters. Around 1975 , they were upgraded to A-2 pinsetters. I currently bowl in a Brunswick house with older A-2's.

These issues do occur sometimes with the Brunswick "A" pinsetters. Once you get the hang of it, you can probably fix almost any common issue with the Brunswick "A" pinsetters. It also sounded like the rake board was coming into contact with the lane surface. Once in a very great while the rake will move towards the pit on one side, but not the other. Back in 1972 when I was only 9 years of age, I actually saw this happen at a bowling center. The rake moved towards the pit on one side, but not the other. They had to shut down the machine so that it could be repaired.

@Dean Flinders l have not found any for sale close by. Everything and l mean everything has been A2's. Before l got into this a big center closed with A's. Lanes 200 each. I was told most machines were left for scrapers after key components were removed.

Can't go wrong with these pinsetters. Pretty easy to work on and more reliable, in my opinion, than the GS-X

I see the machine does not go all the way down and that makes the pins bounce

Thanks! I figured the inside deck hook is causing the problem. I hold it everything is back to normal. I think the rod has wear... the part looks worn.

I have nowhere to install a pinsetter. I should roll a few balls at the pins( I have a few). My landlady would have a canary, a coronary and try to sue me. She's a witch!!!

The reason your pins aren’t dropping into the turret is because the “full deck signal” is only cancelled on the long stroke of the deck. (Setting new pins) you are not getting the long strike of the deck.

As far as pins being set at “standing pins “ height, check your deck eccentric adjustment. The problem is, your deck lowering hook (not deck holding hook) is not being pivoted out of the way by the deck lowering hook cam.

I think the one of the Blocking Fingers is too low or the bracket for the 5 Pin Chute was not pushed in (once the 5 Pin enters) that's the problem why the Turret didn't release the pins to the Deck. That was my guess on diagnostics this Pinsetter.

I was told when the deck doesn't go all the way down it won't trip the release. Now that l made the adjustment it releases the pins from the turret. I will upload footage of it working properly.

It really looked like your deck was stuck on the short lowering hook instead.

Yeah. I've had the manual for these as well as the GS series for years now. I've been building mostly lego replicas but that has taught me a lot. At 21 years old I probably know just enough to work on them, and learn the rest by doing. :)

The problem of the pindeck only coming halfway down to drop/set the pins often happens at one of my local bowling allies.

@Pinz n Pinsetters Ken from bowlfix made a repair video. I made adjustment and it worked! All that's left is rake height adjustment. Check bowlfix channel out.

The GS-X doesn't have a shaker bed, a pin wheel, and a ball wheel either. And the pin delivery system is pretty weird looking too. I'm not doubting the GS-X, I've never worked on one or bowled on one, but they just look completely foreign. Subbed your channel by the way. Long live the Brunswick A series. Did you get it all figured out?

Very accurate, time delay for wobbly pins, rake stopped at 180 waiting for pins and set a full deck! 🎳 Keep up the good work!
