I was just thinking, “Bad band conditions, QRP, compromised antenna” them BOOM - Sweden. Well done.

That's exactly how I felt, too! :)

Always great to get you in the log for some local DX, Thomas! ;) Funny you mention the bug sounds, we just got back from a road trip visiting my wife’s family in Kansas City, and are typically there before or after the bugs are out in full force. The sounds of the cicadas is always surprising, as we don’t have them in the NW. First time our kids experienced lightning bugs also! On a ham note, the trip (and my wife’s ham patience) did allow me to add 5 new states to my POTA activation count! Michael - N7CCD

Wow! 5 new states? Well done! And, yes, it's always a good activation when N7CCD is in the logs no matter what state!

Thomas, you are missing that Gingham table-cloth on the QRPer gear list!

I know! It was a gift, so I don't think I have the direct link. I may have to look for it. Works a treat!

The noise of insects in an American summer is a bit like the noise my hair clippers make!

It looks like you could use some wire clips to hold the table cloth wrapped around the table edges.

I have a kx3 and have always wanted to have an easier way to hook up the ground wire. you very briefly mentioned a mini banana plug that hooks up somewhere on the back of the kx2. does this exist. if so where can I find one and would it work for the kx3.

In Windy, Oklahoma, that tablecloth would never stay there… It would be gone before you could walk back with your camera… Nice tablecloth though.

Ha ha! I remember that about OK. The winds were ever-present!

I may have missed it elsewhere, but could I put an AX1 on a radio or tuner other than the Elecraft? I would think so, but want to confirm; I can probably justify the expense for the antenna, but not the radio.
@MoseYoutube6 ай бұрын
Yes you can put it on anything with a BNC connection. You can even use a mini camera/phone tripod.
@ThomasK4SWL5 ай бұрын
Yes. In fact, last year, I used the AX1 with a wide number of radios. Dig through this playlist to find some: kzbin.info/aero/PLQwZF-uqDOfgOdlCWxFHYP6_NM0lms1Gk
