Another great video, with a bit of nostalgia for me - my first rig was a TT century 21 (which I still have) 😀 Interestingly with regards to your sending additional dits - I had a similar issue when I plugged a Bluetooth speaker into my Wolfwave DSP audio filter (which is fantastic) in which I also kept sending additional dits and dahs, which was very frustrating. However the problem went away if I used headphones instead of the speaker. Just a thought.

Thomas, I’ve been pretty lucky on eBay, but I just received an excellent looking GE SR 1, that has apparently been opened. The tuning wheel moves the indicator opposite to the normal direction. (Idk if the band was stretched and they were trying to take up some slack by inverting it). The price wasn’t bad, and these are getting harder to find in such good condition, so I’m wondering if it’s worth repairing. Any thoughts on this?

Do you get to keep the gear these stores give you to test cause I’d love to do stuff like this

It's funny how many Thomas's are into Ham radio and putting it out there to encourage more people to get into it. Hell, I'm a Thomas, and they made me president of the biggest club on the big island. Keep up the awesome, bud. 🤙🏾

Extremely good advice. Also when I was newly licenced I used to have qsos on 2m CW slow morse and after awhile I ventured over to HF. When I received my class a licence I still had qsos on 2m I had qsos on HF as well. CW slow morse and I found other operators would slow down to my speed which was really very much appreciated on my part and I let speed come naturally you don't push it because if you try and push for speed you go backwards. That's what I found. It sets you back so really you want to advance I found the best time for me for Morse code to practise receiving and this helps. He helped me enormously finding the best times during the day or evening for Morse it's an extremely versatile form of communication. Very reliable I hope this helps 73s de G0HDA

Praying that you and your family are safe. I imagine you are near areas of NC affected by the hurricane.

I love the video style, raw and gritty. I'm a new ham, and I'm still getting a feel for how these kinds of operations work, so I find this quite nice. 73 de DN9SRC

Just heard you on the W4HTP repeater via Scanner Radio heading out to do a welfare check post-Helene. Best to folks in the TN/NC area.

This is an amazing opportunity for me to see you and Vlado as a team. Vlado has put togeather something that I can consider a special qrp transceiver with rock sturdy performance that outperforms so many of the homebrew qrp rigs that I have seen on KZbin. It is nice to view these kinds of videos being made while the weather is still T-shirt compatible.

Forrest (KI7QCF) in Idaho was on 21.051.5.. and you were listening on 21.050.5. :) No wonder you didn’t hear him!!! Lol😂 (43:32)

Hey, Tom. I live a couple hours from you, close to Charlotte. We lost power days ago, but it's nothing compared to WNC. I hope everything is alright, and you're in my thoughts.

2 nuisances, the VFO encoder is on-off missing a few clicks and the CW monitoring tone on-off changes tone frequency briefly. Both happen no matter which band. Gust ON6KE

Wonder what the scan rate of the radio’s monitor is?

👍Thanks for video. The CFT1 RX audio sounds very nice. This is the first time I have seen one. My first impressions is that it is similar in appearance to a QRP Labs QMX/QCX. No idea if it's a convential superhet, DC or SDR but certainly sounds nice and the XTAL filter certainly seems effective.
