That is a Great idea! One suggestion from me to Hardee Mfg. is to put wheels on each side of the cutter to evenly roll over the ground for mowing.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
The thing is, that it is meant for more than just the ground. Maybe removable wheels. I could see me hanging that thing in a limb up in a tree with wheels, plus I don't think they meant it to be a precision mower. Any weight added to it, is weight hanging out there when a person is mowing. It would have looked a whole lot better if I was a better operator. That was my attempt at operating the Brush Tiger

I like that the oil tank on the power pack is offset to the left to also help with tractor balance.

Got some pretty good workout music to go with the mowing. We have a curvy road to our place and it would be nice to whack out the stuff in the ditch that likes to grow into the lane. We mow out to the edge but the light brush and weeds hang into the road and it can get a little hairy when meeting someone coming from the other way.

Several things, Tony. I have been researching cutters the past 3 years and Hardee is without a doubt one of the strongest made brush cutter companies in this area. Before I ever heard of them, all the local NC folks said the name Hardee before I even mentioned any other brush cutter company name. Hardee has a standing contract with Massey Ferguson and my 4 foot rotary cutter I have on my GC 1710 is the 4 foot Hardee cutter. It's a tough unit and will withstand the beating from a battalion of COVID- Gorillas. I was looking at the Land Shark and Trail Blazer and I liked both but wished they would have merged their construction technology. It appears Hardee actually did that concept. I wanted a separate but dedicated, hydraulic pump, and Trail Blazer hss that but now the Hardee is in the House. I would like to know cost $$. Trail Blazer currently has a special sale running through February or March and that too will be a major (co$t) factor. Talk to me about CO$T and military discount. I heard you say Ugh-Oh when the TYM front wheels got turned sideways in the ditch. I have plenty of ditches here in NC but much steeper. Thanks for sharing this video and wish you and your bride a Merry Christmas. BTW, beard looks good on ya, brother. Just shaved mine off; will regrow next season. Later. 👍🏽🙂

Very nice Tony 👍 Once you go with this type system you can use the rear hydraulic unit for other attachments 👍 Snow blower / front auger . It’s pretty much endless what you can run hydraulic on the front . With this mower you can make a lot money on side doing work around ponds and hard too reach places 👍 The only thing I would add is a quick attach Lexon plastic impact windshield too the loader uprights for flying debris . Pretty cool machine Brother 👍👍

I like it but if you want feedback here it is. I've mowed an bushhog a lot of fields an banks in my lifetime. I use a bushhog brand behind a Ford farm tractor. It looked like the cutter itself the side rails are 4 inches. Whereever the blades spin at I want 6 inches from blades to the side rails or slides if you will. An that keeps blades out of dirt. It would allow you to put box of cutter down on ground an let it float along without raising it up or down all the time an minimize blades digging in the ground an minimize stuff flying out from under it.

@@TonysTractorAdventure I'm sure it works fine watching the video it looked like you were picking it up a lot. This bushhog I use i set it on ground its 6 inches up from slides on side to blades an of course grass is 6 inches high but I don't worry about getting into nothing. All I'm saying I've been on a farm here in Tennessee all my life it wouldn't be first time I altered something to suit me.

I notice the blade spins counterclockwise dragging all the debris it's chopping up onto the road. Mfr needs to offer a clockwise spinning option for lane keeping since you now have to clean the road you've clogged with debris.

I don't. It would add extra weight and get hung on things. It is meant to hold up in the air and trim branches too. It is not really meant to be a finish mower. I think I will get better at it with time. This was my first day working it. I learned a lot.

Hey Tony, happy new year! Nice piece of equipment. Question: what's protecting you from debris flying back and hitting you?
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
The rotation of the blade and operator's skill. The operator must never move the head in a way that they can see the blade. Tractors are dangerous and each operator assumes a certain amount of risk. Having said that, I never felt I was in any danger.
@claudenormandeau9211
@claudenormandeau9211 3 жыл бұрын
Since this attachment is mounted on the right side of this tractor then the mower blades should be turning to the right so the cuttings stay on the right side. I certainly wouldn't want to be clearing trails with this mower as it throws all the debris back on the trail or road in this case.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
That would be bad. Then the blade would be throwing stuff at the operator from the backside of the mower. This is the best way.
@claudenormandeau9211
@claudenormandeau9211 3 жыл бұрын
@@TonysTractorAdventure I completely disagree, A strong argument can be made that it would be much safer because it is exhausting from the front before it is drawn threw the mower housing.
@TonysTractorAdventure
@TonysTractorAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
I am always up for debate. In this case, I own it and had lunch with the guy who designed it. It is designed this way to keep it from throwing stuff at the operator's face. Operating it in real life throughout all of its ranges, I can say without a doubt, if the blade rotates the other way, it would kill someone.

well it seems like a good idea but I actually run a road mower for a township with a boom 5 foot cutter and we have to be in a cab to run it and bullet proof glass on the passenger side door ,which has shattered b/4 from a rock on the side of the road ditch flying up if it was not there the driver definetely would of been killed ,. and it will throw a rock over 200 feet away , so not sure of this concept

Nice trimming mower there and its all self contained so would be easy to run on many different tractors as well .. Only thing is make sure you know your local laws when mowing along public roads since here i would get a ticket for blowing the clippings on road and for not having any chain or rubber flap guards on mower

Hardee doesn't sell directly to the public. This is also not a standard implement. All the hoses have to be made for your tractor. This is a specialty implement and, as such, takes a bit more information to purchase. This cutter is fantastic and offers so much flexibility when mowing. It is not a box store purchase.

Operation of a tractor is dangerous but a skill that is learned. This is as safe as any cutter which is operated as intended with experience. I would recommend to a new tractor operator to go slow at the beginning and learn to feel it out. I am not new to tractors, but I was still very slow and meticulous starting out. Turns out, it was very easy to use. I felt very comfortable after about an hour of uses.
