Clearing 3 acres that hasn't been touched in over 5 years. Using the Kubota BX and a 48" rotary cutter we reclaim this overgrown pasture, clear some fence lines, and trim some tree branches.

I have the BX2680, don't have a rotary cutter yet, but most likely will pick one up in the very near future to save my mid mount mower for actual lawn mowing LOL. These little tractors can sure get a lot of work done. I call my BX2680 my fancy expensive wheelbarrow LOL.

That’s a good idea backing instead of driving forward another reason is you won’t get any flat tires backing either from the thorns which is a plus. Do you think an 1880 would run a 48 inch brush hog or is it a little bit too much I just bought a bx1880 a couple months ago and I have some family members that have a big pasture and I would like to try and mow it with my 1880

I think it should handle it. If it’s mostly grass it wouldn’t be too bad. Thicker brush you may have to go slow and creep along. The BX is a good machine and should pair well with a 48”

I'd go with a 42" brush hog with the BX1880. A 48" might work but it would be awfully slow going in heavy mowing conditions due to the lower HP of the tractor.
