Classes start November 2, 2021, and will take place on both KZbin and Facebooks on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sundays, at 1 pm EDT until November 30, 2021. Every class will be at the easiest beginner level with a focus of helping first time artists. Not only will you learn the beginner basics about acrylic, but it is my goal that by the end of the course, you will have the fundamental set of skills you can build on and, at the same time, unlock your creative potential. Classes will be pre recorded live streams to help us schedule and to allow me to be present in chat during all classes to answer your questions.
The course consists of an introduction and 17 classes which will introduce concepts and skills needed for first time acrylic painters of all ages. Extra resources will be provided from the The Art Sherpa website, www.theartsherpa.com.
Although students must provide their own art materials, I designed the series using the minimal basic art supplies for acrylic painting.
If you have really wanted to begin painting but did now know where to start, this course is perfect for you. Perhaps you have been painting for a while but never really got the opportunity to learn the basics. This is still the course for you.

I'm left-handed and I've learned most things by sitting across from a right-hander. It's a challenge, but we lefties are challenged DAILY lol. One thing you do have to know is, we tend to start a painting on the R side of the canvas and work left, so we don't lay our hand in the paint.

BRUH I've been using all brushes the same way without knowing pressure is even a thing... it helps so much with edges! Crazy. Twist wise I just learnt this yesterday. I'm good with dotting but it seems like I need to practice the leaf/tear method. It can make out feathers too. And I finally know what that edge brush is for... I've been neglecting it but now I see that the smooth and clean, sexy stroke I'm always trying to make was in that very brush... Also the crockety branches are so beautiful and give me Japanese vibe. The lavender and poppy flowers made me smile and brought me joy. Thanks a lot!! Your energy both is cosmic.

Cinnamon & John - I am soooo grateful to have found you! I am truly truly a beginner and have learned soooo much! Love these classes. One HUGE thing I have discovered from you is layering - lay down the first outline then the base/layer coat….add as you go along. I was under the impression that you had to get it right almost immediately…..NO, you taught me you just get the first part done then slowly add in the highlights and details. Thank you thank you. I don't care what anyone says; Pumpkin Latte is fantastic! Last winter I concocted it until I found the perfect recipe. I take a 15 ounce can of pure pumpkin, pour it into a mixing bowl. Add a can of pure coconut milk with fat. Sweeten with maple syrup to your liking. Don't forget salt! I then make a mix of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove & allspice, salt & vanilla, add it to pumpkin, maple & coconut & mix well. Then I pour it into a container & use it for many servings of coffee. Most of the time I go over the top and finish off with a huge topping of whipped cream:))

Just keep practicing. One of our mods gets canvas paper and practices strokes and technigues over and over until she feels more comfortable. You can paint over canvas paper just like you do regular canvas and it makes it more fincially feasible to practice on. 💕
