You dont use handbrushes at all? Like ultrafine steel and such for cleaning out the structure?

What brush do you use for cleaning the ski (to remove dirt, etc.) before you start waxing?
@caldwellsportski Жыл бұрын
It’s a great idea to use a base cleaner to help remove surface wax and pollution - kind of like using dish soap instead of just scrubbing really hard. Whether or not you use cleaner, a fine steel brush is a great tool for clearing surface material in preparation for waxing.

@@caldwellsportski I heard many different recommendations for brushing after base cleaner: steel roto, steel, nylon roto, natural hand. What is your recommendation?

@@alessela7119 it’s not so critical. The cleaner will soften the remaining hydrocarbon material and loosen the bonds. Work the cleaner on the base while it’s wet with a shop towel or an old nylon brush. Then wipe it off, and let the ski dry until you see a whitish film left behind (the base will look “dry”). Then just brush away that residue with more or less any brush, and you should have quite a clean base.

I've heard you need to let liquids dry for 12-24 hours for buffing with a fleece.. What do you think?

Not so. Star liquids dry within a minute (or less). Older Vaughti liquids take a bit more time but this can be accelerated successfully by using a Hair dryer for a miinute or so.
