How to paint wicker in a Totally Tropical furniture finish

Lets go totally tropical, taking cues from the wicker texture of this bombay chest. My inspiration was well traveled and ephemeral. This blended finish is reminiscent of a trip to the islands, finished with a tropical leaf transfer design

Didn't know about the stencils doing well on textured pieces - good to know. I had initially thought they would have adhesion problems, but apparently they stick even better to crevices. Cool. And personal opinion is that they look really integral to this textured piece, they blend in like they were made there, not applied; they look like a part of the piece when they are incorporated into texture. (That is, I like the design elements of transfers, but to me, transfers, on flat surfaces, can look a little "stuck on" instead of an integral part of the wood. --Then again, it could be it's the limitations of photography and I would think differently if I could see pieces in person instead of just through a video. Not sure.) But this is a really attractive piece, IMHO.

Now that I know some technique from you!!!.. wanna paint a soft yellow with some big transfer roses and shadowing with a brown!!! Plan on planting Shasta daisies, black eyed Susan’s, purple cone flowers, & cypress vine seeds!!! If you have never planted a seed-get cypress vine!! Will need a trellis. Red, small blooms on a feathery/fern like vine!!! Grow easy from seed and Hummingbirds Love!!! Now granted-home is in brown w/ brown/pink/clay (terra cotta)/ black bricks with Purple shutter & door!!! Since I did that purple, I’ve seen teal , burnt orange, royal blue, and a yellow accent colors on shutter and doors!!! All Look Beautiful!! No more black shutters or doors!!! Sounds weird, live in a nice neighborhood, & ppl are experimenting with diff colors!!! Anyways, going on too much!!! Thank you for the Inspiration!!! 💓🌸💓
