Oh this was just so adorable to watch, Bowie is so laid back bless him. Ozzy will only let us groom him when he's having a drink from the tap in the bath😂 he's not as laid back as Bowie. I have two Ragdoll cross snowshoe kittens 8 months old. They are getting bigger as time passes. I had them castrated 2 months ago and my vet wanted to steal them because they are so laid back they purred through ordeal of having fur trimmed and given sedative with their paws outstretched. So brushing is a walk in the park with them. I've never met more laid back cats in my life. Your channel gives great insight into the breed. Can't recommend this lovely breed highly enough.

In the lats Spring, my 2 drop their heavier Winter coat. Luckily, they live to be brushed/combed. We introduced brushing when they were kittens. But, we will never stay ahead if the massive shedding. It isn't true that they are low-shedders!!!

Hi myozbubble, Especially when they lose their winter coat, I only try to remove the loose hair and brush it against matting. All the hairs that come loose by brushing and the new hairs that take the place, then come loose again simultaneously and then it can be quite a lot. (This is according to my vet.)

My Coco is happy being groomed on top, not so happy with tummy and nether regions- treats help but he does try to get away and I don’t want to stress him- however totally in awe as how he/she lets you move them around 😯 my ragdoll is chilled, not sure he’d let me position him like that- I’ll try tomorrow 🤞

That way would definitely not work for my ragdoll. I brush every morning thoroughly & she has so much hair she & still gets mats. Good thing is i catch them in the early stage. I use metal comb & you have to brush one direction, then the other in order to get the dead hair out. I like the damp microfiber cloth idea. I will try that. With 2 Persians & 1 ragdoll i have cat hair roundups every day, rolling around on the floor.

I would like to brush our orange ragdoll gently but as soon as he sees the brush, he runs over and rubs his face on it hard. We brush him more aggressively than you did here for sure. He doesnt lose more hair than seems normal but we always get all tangles out first then finish with the good hard brushing he so craves.

I have a calico ragdoll and a tortie seal point. My calico has soft, rabbit-feeling silky fur, but she DOES tend to get mats under her arms where they attach to her body that we sometimes have to cut out with scissors. I have 2 different furminators, and they help some, but they also tend to pull the cat's skin and extract a LOT of hair, so I do not like to use them, only under extreme situations....

Experience with my cats has shown they are not fond of the vacuum cleaner, which would be helpful. My cats also spent more time playing with the brush then getting any actual grooming done.

Hola, yo tengo dos Ragdoll, gato y gata, son hermanos de la misma camada. No les gusta nada que les cepille el pelo, pero luego se suelen dejar y terminan ronroneando. Yo les paso un cepillo cada dos días. A veces uso un peine antienredos para deshacer los nudos, que normalmente se forman en la base de la cola de la gata porque es mucho más peluda que su hermano. También les suelo pasar un guante antipelos a modo de masaje. No había pensando en usar una toalla de microfibra húmeda para cuando pierden más pelo, ha sido una buena idea. Bowie es precioso. Persephone Asher we have 2 male ragdoll for 12 years now. They used to be almost 8 kls but we had to put then on a diet a little bit before our expat assignment to another country because the airline’s regulation was just 8kls including their carrier so they could be with us under the seats👍😻😻stay safe always!

I have a lot of Jasmine plants on my garden fences so that my cats cannot climb over them. In the places where they can still climb I have homemade roller bars. When Bowie and Bella are out, I always keep an eye on them.

FURminator. FURminator. FURminator. I have had my 2 inch FURminator for over 20 years. It combs the undercoat and the cats love it...I have no problems with furball's or anything. And it's the best. The darn thing cost too much. But the value is in the quality of construction. And how well it does the job. When I'm not using the FURminator, I use a simple cute brush that combs the top and it makes them look even more adorable. I know I sound like a commercial for the FURminator. But there is no substitute for how well it does. It's just has a horrible name that sounds like it's gonna kill the animals. But you comb your hair with it... just have to have a nice trashcan available. Because you get out so much fur you could put it together and have another cat.

Just like one of our ragdolls who loves so much to be brush and just a brush not a comb. you’ll surrender to brush him up ‘coz he’s really enjoying it.while the other ragdoll likes only a comb not brush and just a few strokes. You’d know that he’s annoyed through his eyes and growls,so you better watch out. if you continue he’ll attack your hand but doesn’t hurt though😀More power and take care😻

How lucky you are that he likes to be brushed. Our 2 ragdoll girl hate it. They always try to bite or grab the brush, only on their chins they like to be brushed.

I'm going to try this with my one ragdoll mix as he seems to keep shedding when I comb/brush him. Maybe I'm doing more harm than good. One thing though; how to get the hairs from the cloth? Do you use tape, throw it in the washer/dryer regardless of the hair or do you use disposables?
