Maybe this will help a younger person or noObie if they get in a pinch . If someone is worried about fire or none is available heating up a driver tip with a flame and hold it there for 30 seconds usually works , use a solder pen , or hot water if it’s feasible . Solder pen works the best for me 👍, 10 seconds or so is good . I ve had a quite a few knives with red loctited pivots and it always worked . They all work . Flame is the best but there’s potential for damage depending which way the flame is pointed. Aluminum foil can help . Ever since sweating copper pipes I’ve found the aluminum foil comes in handy in tight places like installing new shower valves or tight places that make me nervous .

You can get electric motor cleaner as well for guys that don't want to use the denatured alcohol/thinner. If you want to keep that debris out of those extra holes you could loctite some set screws in them. Also you can add a thin layer of grease on the inside face of the end bell to catch any debris to stick to if it gets in there.

I'm curious if you have ever used Electric Motor cleaner to spray the cans out and if there was any side effects from it? Great Vid, good info in there 👍
@rcguygarage4 ай бұрын
@@JimsRCandAuto yeah I've used just point blank electrical cleaner. Same thing. As long as you're not concentrating for too long of a Time, it's just the amount of debris and the grease from the bearing made it not a normal scenario. In the end this is all toy stuff. Joe, you need to do this stuff yourself and experiment and learn. I use the lack of thinner because I knew it wasn't going to harm anything. I've used lacquer thinner and enamel reducer on automotive paint. Epoxy glues are usually stronger that hold these windings together when you think about how much heat they're subjected to 200 plus degrees so I wasn't worried about any type of issue with that. Always try air first. That's what you need a compressor with a nice little airgun 👍💯

What was it you dunk tanked the motor in. Was it the lacquer thinner? I wonder what the motor windings are insulated with and if it's lacquer thinnable?? 🤔
@rcguygarage4 ай бұрын
@@JIPPERR_1 yep however I didn't soak just quick dunk and blow. In autobody I'd spray over a semi prepped painted surface with lacquer thinner (enamel reducer) to help soften to blend. In my mind, this is a similar scenario to where any type of epoxy used either wouldn't be affected or if anything would melt and redry 🤣😂
