Hi Debbie, that came out so pretty. The negative painting really makes it all pop. I haven’t been sure about brusho, but seeing you play with it in different ways is convincing me! I hope you will continue experimenting with it! I think the color surprises are so fun!

It has been so much fun, and the Brusho (literally) last forever! I do enjoy negative painting, although it can be a little tricky till it just clicks. Debbie, I am just still staring at my Brusho paints. Phase one was getting them into a pretty container. Phase two was moving them onto my art desk. I’m still so intimidated by them 😂 Your tutorials are my phase three. You make it look fun and effortless. I actually love that you are allowing us to “learn with you” as you say to us. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of watching the many ways to use and have fun with this medium.😊

I had my first set of brushes sitting for I don’t know how long make sure and watch my playlist and I hope it helps definitely a learning curve with these. .. I had to giggle a bit at your phases because I think I was the same way🥰 Let’s keep learning together and reminding ourselves it’s just a little paper and paint !

Thanks Linda, Ive been playing a lot with it for several months, and so fun. You do absolutely have to just use that tiny pin prick in the cap, its crazy concentrated! Thank you so much for your free lessons, your hot pink brushes are awesome and by the way the square eraser pencil you like to use is called Blackwing. I ordered some and use at times.

Thank you, Im glad you enjoy my content and my brushes, they are so pretty arent they! Yes, I have the set of pencils and each are different. I like them all~ Heres a breakdown for anyone wondering what we are talking about... lol The softest is the Blackwing Matte, which is comparable to a 4B pencil. The Matte pencil writes with a smooth, dark line that’s great for shading and drawing. Next is the Pearl, which has a balanced lead: still dark and soft, but with a harder point that stays sharp longer. The Pearl is similar to a 3B or 2B pencil. After the Pearl comes the Blackwing 602, the original Blackwing pencil. Ideal for writing, the 602 has a firm lead that’s a little smoother and darker than that of a typical writing pencil. It’s a versatile pencil whose lead is similar to a B or HB. The hardest Blackwing pencil is the Natural, with extra-firm lead. This is a great pencil for writing and for drawing fine lines, and is closest to an HB or H pencil. They are all great pencils :-)

Thank you Julie, A more difficult technique, but negative painting is a good strength and skill builder, and it sometimes takes the eye a bit and the mind to grasp painting the negative vs the positive! I hope you give it a try. I will have to do more on negative painting.

That is a Matilija poppy pernounced ( matili- ha ) A hard to grow plant. It's a solid, bright white, with a big yellow center that is like a ball. The pettles are sort of crepey. A very unique flower. Don't paint it any other color. We have them here in calif. Not sure what other states have them. Needs hot summers and rainy winters. I've heard the the seeds need to be burnt before they will germinate. We have plenty of wildfires in this state. unfortunaly.

Thank you for that, I typically run the photos through my app. My best friend sent me this picture from Seattle, WA. She saw while hiking growing wild! An entire field of them! Yes, they look like crepe paper. How interesting, they need to be brunt to germinate? Im so glad you shared all of that, what fun!

Looks like a petal missing behind the yellow center. We liked it better with out the Kelly green and the yellow brush above the flower. Just us. Newbies. Joan and Don. Nice part is we all see something different. Learning.
