@Theatre of Flesh comparing bands in such a way is valid. If I got it right, DH BA was a heartful, original show with the same energy as 30 years ago, whereas some (not all of course) young "super tech" bands hide behind their technical knowledge and perform miserable, soulless acts. This is my interpretation. Maybe I'm wrong.

So many bands nowadays could take a lesson from these guys in how to put on a live performance. The sound is tight, heavy, and pummeling. In other words: perfect. Angel Cotte does a beautiful job of being his own drummer while still paying homage to the insanity that was Vinny Daze (RIP). The whole band just rips. And Steve's vox are the perfect blend of gasoline and an acidic mix of raw power. Like Frank Mullen (formerly of Suffocation), he MAKES the vox an instrument instead of something separate. One of my absolute all-time favorite bands!!! Hail!! \m/

@Lilbroda3 жыл бұрын
@@Bones98 There were bands playing like this before DH, Dark Angel is a good exemple from the mid 80s, you might mistake it for DM because of fast blast and double kicks and growl vocals, but DM was about the atmosphere, the low key and tremolo melodies and the variation of tempo which def gave the style the unique signature. I still understand why people would call DH Death Metal. But they are a thrash metal band. An extreme one, no doubt.
