Dead had said in an interview long ago that he wanted the live stage set to contain a full model of the DMS house, trees from a dead forest, and lighting to simulate moonlight, and graveyard fog. It looks like they are starting to honor those wishes here

Anyone with 1+ years of active drumming experience can do the same. There is nothing extraodinary in the way he drums. Very simplistic. Like every other instrument and "musician" in the band. Playing fast (and most of the time just one note) is not a talent, a monkey can do it.

Don't think for a moment that the audience was dead. Everybody was like under some kind of spell by Attila and the dark lights of musical notes released by the band. We were "frozen". The show took place at 12:00AM , 13th of August 2017, technically it was Sunday.

What I find just awesome during freezing moon is that during the slow and repetitive part in the middle (around 13:50 of something) they added just on one of the two guitars the high strings, to add the sound of the intro over the riff... I just noticed it and damn, that's awesome (that's something I hadn't heard before, and it isn't on the album)

i just got my first ever vinyl today! and it is Mayhems 1989 recordings and rehearsals in an album called "out from the dark" i used my friends vinyl player and he wasnt into it too much but i loved it! so happy that mayhem was my first vinyl and i am planning on buying more. seeing them in scotland on the 20th of may 2022... so excited man!

@@thatguymikko Agree, it's unreal! Been playing De Mysteriis since day it dropped, I never tire of it. What an incredibly dark, yet colored history it has and it been so cool watching performances of current lineup perform it front to back. I am a huge fan of this lineup and touring this album live I believe helped capture some of that old spirit on Daemon album. They've without a doubt became much tighter band both studio and live.

This was a killer tour. I remember reading somewhere they made a few minor tweaks to songs for the anniversary (some songs are a bit longer, some tweaks to the solos), and it really pays off in a subtle way. Plus this lineup just plays really well together.

Come on Wednesday!!! De Mysteriis, Mayhem, this lineup, it will be a great day. This lineup for me, just absolutely blew it up on Daemon. That time spent touring De Mysteriis really helped them become incredibly tight as a band, capturing that old black metal vibe yet making a crushing modern album. Songwriting and production was stepped up. Attila delivered phenomenal performance. I thought he set a bar, the band set a new bar. Long Live Mayhem!!!

'Hellhammer never used corpsepaint,not live anyway.And it would be a terrible idea to play drums wearing a monk robe/cape. On this tour,Mayhem were pretty much recreating the attitude and athmosphere from the early 90's,especially regarding this particular album(hence the monk robes)and in my opinion they did a great job doing so.
